Why are games so cheap?!

How come Dead Space 2 is so cheap at the moment?! It's a brand new game. I don't get how companies are managing to do this.

Where are you buying the game from ?

I actually thought the opposite.

New games seem to be £42 now by default rather than £39.99, I assume due to the VAT increase.

Dead Space 2 is about £24 at play.com, you can get it for £24 at Tesco, just don't get it?!

I'm guessing Dead Space 2 wasn't the blockbuster seller they were all hoping for so they are trying to shift stock now rather than wait a bit longer and take a bigger hit.

ds2 was always gonna be cheap very quickly. I'm waiting a few more weeks till it hits £17.99

Works a charm for me now though. :D Won the Audi R8 Spider in the Casino the other night.

Loving it........and it only cost me pounds as i traded in GT5 for £35 at the same time. lol

I'm tempted to do the same.

I wasn't slagging off the game - I was gonna buy it last night but got cold feet.

Any chance of a mini review syz?

Here's a mini review, looks ok, not totally polished, drives quite strangely and takes a bit of getting used too, strange MMO concept, kicks the tripe out of GT5 and well worth purchasing! Strangely addictive

Story mode is cheese of the very highest order but does help you initially get your licenses and tournaments so you can build up some money. However you can easily find yourself cruising around for hours doing random exploration (you can find scrap cars that eventually piece together to get you an old classic like a bug or a stock car) and there are cheesy single missions to do (100 of them) plus loads of impromtu multiplayer races and challenges when someone gives you a flash of their headlights (can earn big bucks).

Also the casino mode (which is DLC or free if you get from Gamestation) is brilliant...........you can play on the slots and win money plus the Audi R8, play poker and drink coctails for entry to the VIP area. lol

Most importantly the cars are much tighter this time round (but can be unforgiving) and the Range Rovers etc in the off road races/cruising are fantastic. I haven't opened up Hawaii yet but there is tons to do on Ibizia.

If you like driving games and free world cruising then this is excellent and i thoroughly recommend it. :)

cheers... worth ditching GT5 for it?

Definately imo. I didn't enjoy GT5 and it was gathering dust as i prefered Forza 3 for simulation.

This is the price they should be imo. Ive never paid more than £20 for a new game & never will.
