theres only 1 rule about banned members, you don't talk about banned members
banned#3
You can talk another former-banned members though.

As I like to talk about myself A LOT, I'd like to thank the rule makers for allowing this.

He has killed a member whilst collecting goods.

Could be for a variety of reasons i guess.. Perhaps he's collected items and paid with counterfeit money, which resulted in him being banned and re-registering.

Or hes a rather difficult chap, so i would not want him to collect the item from my wife and put her in that situation..

Or it just be for something relatively simple...

PM ASB, you're more likely to get a response that makes sense.

Hi Spritey,

You should probably ask the member prior to them turning up. As a trade has been agreed, we'd hope that you both have followed the trading advice in full re verification of details.

The account was banned as a 'suspected' multi, however as always, they have the right of appeal via the Contact Us option.

What was the reason the original ID was banned, any reason i should be concerned? Because if he's an awkward chap, i will tell my wife not to open the door.. Since he hasn't turned up at the agreed time, i won't be home.

I have their mobile number and have attempted to call them, with no response.

Although, that doesn't particularly help me with my question.. I can hardly say "Hey mate, you a bit of a plonker?"

His £10 deposit cleared, so i can only suspect he still does intend to collect the laptop.

Send him a text asking why he has been banned.

Once again...

Somebody with a poor attitude who i'd rather not subject my wife to, is hardly going to agree or admite to that.....

"I got banned for being a complete ****, don't worry though, i'll behave and make sure not to be an **** infront of your wife and 2 year old son"....

So what do you want the mods to do?
Do you think he was banned for having a poor attitude to people in real life?

one day common sense will prevail, until then you're have to wait ASB and thesaint are less than direct with their answers I know

I want the mods to tell me why the original ID was banned. It's hardly a complicated request.

If the original ID had a history of creating problems when collecting an item, i feel that's a piece of information i should be made aware of.
#16
Ive just looked at the thread and he seems genuine especially offering to pay £10 deposit also he says he wont be able to collect until 6.30 tonight so will you be home then spritey if your concerned he's a nut job , lol

Sorry just read again ............dont know where i got the 6.30 from oO............he said evening anyway !!

I was just tagging onto your statement with regards to you being concerned about your wife being home with this ex member.

On the face of it, you've invited a complete stranger to your house, you're not in and don't even have a confirmed telephone number/address/etc...

If there was a 100% conclusive link in the forums, we'd have published the connection, if not, all we can do is restrict/terminate the account where we believe it to be the case that the accounts are linked. The member of course has the option to Contact Us.
#18
Even if suspected and a potential risk, i should at least be informed of this.

Most invite complete strangers for collection, an address is hardly going to stop this person from being awkward upon arrival.

"Hey mate... calm down, i've got your address.. Don't make me beat you over the head with it".

Besides, i'm 6ft3 and perfectly capable of handling myself.. My wife however, is not.

Thankyou for the lack of information in this case though, i will inform my wife not to open the door... Which is likely going to create more of an issue no doubt.

You've been a fantastic help

I think it would be reflected in his feedback.

thesaint - read what has been put... I'm not explaining to this you again.

shopstilldrops: He PM'd me asking if he could collect between 12-1 today instead.

We're quite straight, however we don't force anyone to trade. What we do request is that members follow the trading advice in full and use that info when deciding to trade or not.

As for 'strangers' turning up at the door, again, that's a kop out to an extent and a denial of self responsibility. Better off arranging a courier in those circumstances, or at least verify the details advised. It's a bit disheartening to see some members always trying to evade their own responsibilities.

Sorry if it's a bit blunt, but I mean well.

got a feeling this thread is just another cack handed way to have a pop at fs/ft mods by creating a problem that doesn't really exist.

Some of us have to work.

I'd inform my wife not to open the door and call the police and myself straight away.

Collection is a fact of life on here, people will request it if they're close.

Obtaining an address will not stop somebody from becoming potential violent if they have a history of this.

You're making this more difficult, rather than just informing me of the potential link.

i heard he allegedly got banned for tapping up female members when collecting items bought off here.....

doubt asb would admit it tho

Just because someone got banned from a forum with fickle rules, doesn't mean they will come round your house and be abusive.....what makes you think that they would???

What was the original ID so he can check?
#36
if its any help op he told me he was buying for his 2 young daughters, and a lot of his for sale items are baby items, so that indicates he may be a family man.

It probably isnt as bad as it all sounds, give the bloke a chance send him a text

Thanks

I sent him a text anyway, informing him not to arrive before 6pm.

If he does, my wife knows not to open the door and inform him to call me.
