touchy subject for me just now!

In august I fell out my backdoor when taking rubbish out and sprained both ankles. This sickened me as I have fallen in it most friday nights with no injuries lol. Anyway landed on my knee and since then its been getting more painful

Last week it became unbearable - going upstairs all I could hear was my knee grinding and cracking - so now been told I need an operation. And apparently it isnt the bones u hear crackin, its the cartilage. Yuk

In between bones there is cartilage, which is like the jelly around pork pies which stops the bones rubbing together. When we get older this cartilage detriorates and the bones click or crack tinks x

:? Oh no ......my wrist is wasting away :(

Noise from joints is called crepitus (same Latin root as the word decrepit!)
Caused by gas in the joints.
Just part of the aging process.

Knee joint cartilage - take Chondroitin complex gels from Holland and Barret.

I was supposed to get a meniscus cartilage op 10 years ago but took these instead. Now jogging, running etc without pain or problem.

i was always told not to crack my knuckles as you would get athritis eventually and now i tell my boys the same thing! i will find out soon enough if its true!
#23
The crack is actually nitrogen bubbles being popped. Don't believe me, look it up!

That makes me cringe when people 'click' their fingers.
But I have the same problem in my neck if i'm tired or stressed I have to kinda release the pressure by twisting my neck. Must look strange to other people but it helps me:)

Is that where the term 'to crack one off' comes from? (No pun intended)
#33
Each crack is losing a brain cell. Thats why you forget things when you get old. Now where did I put.....:p
