Well following on from my feeling rough thread, I have been really bad since last monday with the flu.

Shaking, shivering, sweating, aching, hallucinations, feeling sick, loss of appetite, headaches and a cough.

It really is the worse I have ever felt. I do actually think that I have had swine flu but then again I did manage to get myself into work all week. im still not 100% but the cough is just so bad. It feels like a chesty cough as I can feel a sort of loosening of mucus in my lungs when I breathe yet I am not really coughing up anything.
I am going to wait until tuesday to go to the docs but it is without a doubt the worst illness I have had and the worst cough!

Just go away!!

Good job that you're young and healthy and will throw it off in time.
:friends: Have a get well hug.
general gossip:
Is the job going well?
#4
the job is going extremely well thanks, I love I think some of my colleagues are a little upset at me for going into work ill but I would have lost a whole week of wages as I still dont get sick pay!!

im worried bout my daughter, shes developed a nasty cold...she has her first residential school trip next monday, she will be gutted if she cant go :-(

You'll need to ring NHS Direct/Swine Flu hotline as the Docs won't want you there and won't see you.

It's so silly having to have worked for x before becoming eligible for sick pay. As you say, colleagues don't want to work with sick people; it takes longer to get better etc. Glad, it's going well for you, apart from that. .

Ditto......my flu started Monday and now am just left with cough as it developed into bronchitis, which doc gave me antibiotics for. Back to work tomorrow now my temp has gone lol

but what would happen if I only had a chest infection and needed antibiotics? they couldnt just give those out over the phone could they?
#14
Sounds like a chest infection - get to the docs and get some antibiotics - I had to earlier last week.

I rang the surgery first and my doc phoned me back, questioned my symptoms then asked me in so he could listen to my chest.

But I do have great docs anyway

I am seriously going to ask about the flu jab as I am asthmatic ( exercise induced) as well as I would not wish this on anyone.

Mine is just starting to shift now, its still in my ears and I now have a little bit of a cough but nothing like I was at the beginning of the week, I can never remember feeling as bad as I did.

The thing is , I felt like I should have stayed in bed for most of the week and some of my colleagues were not best pleased as 4 of them were away on friday because of it, but my theory was that if I was well enough to get out of bed then I was well enough to get to work
#21
sounds like you got swine flu............... I bet you couldn't get out of bed for the first 2days!!!......... and had a fever at 40c????:o

I managed to get out of bed although I could have stayed there, didnt check my temperature either!!
