Wifi Plug Sockets?

Hi there

My wifi modem/router is in my lounge and quite high up. The signal weakens as you reach the bedrooms at the other end of the bungalow, and I'm led to believe by a friend that you can buy a plug socket thing, that simply plugs into your wall socket in another room, and your wifi signal is improved? Is this the case?

I'm in a bungalow with very thick solid internal walls and am looking at getting wifi in 2 other areas:

1) Bedrooms - will these plug things help?

2) Annexe - I have a separate annexe with a telephone line already in there (obv same as the house and working) but again, wifi is non existant - what's the easiest way i could get wifi in my annexe??

Any (plain English!!) help gratefully received!

Everyone goes on about these home plugs and use them for poor wifi areas and connecting to game consuls .As long as there on the same ring main they should be the answer to your problem . Again ,folk say if your going to buy any ,buy the 200mbps ones . There more expensive but guarantee a faster link .

I use the Comtrend ones and have found them to be excellent - my house has 3 levels and the signal was dropping a lot before.

As long as they're all on the same consumer box you'll be ok - I thought they had to be on the same ring, but it transpires this isn't the case.

Any way you can run a wire? Will be cheaper and arguably better in the long run

I had homeplugs and didn't get on with them very well, ended up putting a wired point in every room
