Wifi radiation

Does anyone feel sick when they are using wifi?!

After a while I get a similar feeling to using a mobile phone, like my head is heating up. I I also become extrememly irratble, my girlfriend calls me on skype but I dont want to talk because my head feels like its boiling!.

I also get a faint ringing in my ears.

Or is it more likely that my laptop screen is giving out alot of radiation?

Cigarettes?!

People will put things on the market until they are told they are unsafe. The fact is there is no scientific evidence to say wifi is bad for you, but then again nothing to say it isn't bad for you

its called `electrosensitivity` hope that helps a bit. : )

No. laptop screens don't give off radition like that, old CRTs did sort of.

and Wifi is incredibly low powered, people complain about it, but it's a much weaker signal than from a mobile phone and even that there is no real evidence that it's bad for you. It's more likely to be caused by a poor headset maybe, or maybe you have an auditory sensitivity to certain very high frequencies, That's what I'd look at, and possibly talk to a doctor.

Just to put it in perspective tho, the signal from your wifi router is at most 30mw, at one metre away from it, that signal is only 15mw, at 2 metres away it's 7.5mw. In comparison a mobile phone can kick out as much as 2000mw, obviously nowhere near that amount goes into you, only a tiny fraction, if it did all sink into your head you'd loose the signal when you put it next to your ear.

Even with the laptop powered off, your router is going to be transmitting at 2.4Ghz - as wireless has very limited range in comparison to mobile phones, the power levels are much lower. TFT screens don't give out any measurable radiation as the technology is very different to a CRT screen.

I'd check some more obvious factors first, how recently have you had your eyesight checked? If it's not been for a while you may be straining to read the screen and not realising it which is making you feel unwell. Are you running at the monitor's native resolution (the maximum one it supports) and what brightness level are you using? If the TFT screen is running in a non-native mode it isn't as sharp which some people find makes it more difficult to use, also many screens now go with very high brightness which in many cases may simply be too high and turning it now could help. Can you see any flicker in the screen if you look closely? A faulty TFT screen may have very slight flickers which are enough to make anyone using the screen not feel great.

Wifi or radiation from your laptop screen is not causing you to feel sick. Here is a good link http://www.skepdic.com/emf.html.
