I have never been to the store, but don't they state how much memory they use before purchase? I would have thought that this was important.

Maybe you would get more response if you had posted a sensible title

my brother has loads of games downloaded and hasn't ventured onto the sd card yet. i think he has something like 4 N64, 3 SNES games and some master system ones, they do state how many blocks each game takes when your in the shop, could tell you how many blocks you've got on the internal memory though,

nope, thats just where the game will end up once youve downloaded it

We've downloaded about six games also - so far no problem!!! Plus we have saves from about fifteen wii games on the console.

Think there is only 512MB storage on the Wii itself, but most of the VC games should be quite small. The N64 ones being the exception.

But in any case SD cards are very cheap to buy nowadays.

Plus you can always delete an older game if you run out of memory, then download it again at a later date.

There is over 2000 memory blocks on the wii and we downloaded super mario last night which took 32 blocks of the 2000 odd so i would think it would hold quite a few!

If I recall correctly, you can't run games from the SD card. You can only use it for backups.

I saw an article once on someone who had downloaded enough virtual console games to fill every free slot on the home screen without filling up the internal memory, so I'd imagine there will be more than enough space for most people.

Obviously this wouldn't be the case if you're downloading mostly N64 games.

this is correct, but once you've backed them up you can just switch them around between your SD card and the console, or as previously suggested you can delete and re-download them for free. i was very surprised at the size of n64 games, i assume they are massively compressed some how, but then again i never knew how big they were originally

They were never very big, Mario 64 for example came on a 16 MB cartridge..
