I'm thinking of getting the above as I have no time for the gym. Would this be worth it?

chances are,if you cant find the time for the gym,you wont find time for the WII either....maybe its just me,but the notion wore off kinda quickly using the WII,as for burning calories/exercising...there was something in yesterdays paper saying that you burn more calories when doing housework than you do on the WII lol

sorry i havent exactly answered your question, but just thought i'd give you a wee bit of advice before you fork out quite a bit of money..good luck on whatever you choose :)

We have the Wii fit and both love it.
Personally I think that when you consider how much Gym membership costs for a year, then a Wii & Wii fit doesn't seem so expensive, (especially since most Gyms will want you to sign up for a full year, with monthly membership, no matter how many times you actually go).
I don't know about the calorie burning Vs doing the housework, but it's not just about calorie burning. Wii fit also has exercises based around balance, posture, and toning, not just the CV stuff.
All in all I think it is very good, just got to back to it now after Christmas :)

Love all these reports that come out usually dec/jan when people are thinking of getting fit
Like jogging can be bad for your health,i know its been said many times before ( bbc newsline last week), and questionmarks over how effective gyms are , i suppose if you go down the route of a wii/wii fit you can always sell/trade in your gear if its not working.

I think that you still need to do the housework if you use a Wii.

There are many more programmes to keep fit on the Wii other than just the Wii fit (plus).

Check here

As above the most important thing in this is your commitment to do it not the software / hardware you are going to do it with.

I have some of them and think if you stuck to them you could become quite fit. (some of the simple Wii fit plus games get your heart pumping like the light sabre fighting.)

So would you still need the wii board for those games, like the biggest loser?

If you click on the link I gave and then click on the game it takes you to Amazon where in the listing it tells you whether it uses the board or not. The biggest loser has 88 exercises of which 66 use the board.
