Wii games for a 49yr old, any suggestions?

My dad's birthday just into the New Year & struggling on what to buy him. My mum's bought him a wii for xmas so thought perhaps a Wii game.
What games would you recommend for a 49 year old man? He's into cars & motorbikes and used to play games like Rayman on the PS2.
Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance :)

My husband is the same age and loves the Tiger woods golf game. I like it as well. He gets very serious about it lol.

We have Tiger Woods & he's never really shown an interest in that tbh, he's not into sport really. But thank you though

I would imagine some of the slower paced games would be better, how about Wii Sports (bowling, tennis etc) and Wii Sports resorts. Both are fairly easy and relaxed and good multi player games. Mario Kart too if he is into his motors.

Think the package my mum's getting is coming with both of those two, but Mario kart is worth a look, thanks

Definitely Mario Kart - both myself and my partner are 40+ and it's a game we play a lot on the Wii - dead easy to do, highly competitive and great fun.

I was just looking at that one actually, I didn't realise they done it on the Wii. Is it very similar to the PS version? Do you need the Wii balance board for it?

Also looking into Mario Kart, will he need the steering wheel or is that a bonus to make life easier?

Thank you all for your help, rep coming your way

The Mario Kart steering wheel just makes it more fun, but you don't need it. My hubby prefers playing without the wheel, he likes just the remote on its own,

Do you know if your mum has bought an extra controller, or if the console comes with 2? Wii Play comes with an extra controller - simple games but good fun.

Think I'm gonna go for Raving Rabbids, tell my sister to get mario Kart if she wants :)
I think the console she's got comes with a controller, nunchuck and a new motion thingy controller?
We bought Wii play simply for the spare controller, but we've played the game a fair bit too :)
