I'm really struggling with everything thats been said, and help thats been given. Basically I want to be able to play virtua tennis 2009 and punch out off my usb on my wii, but I can't because I have to update to 4.0
I already have the hbc, and the usb loader installed..
Can I just update and will it still work, or is there a certain thing I have to do?
In the simplest terms possible please :p
Thanks
Jack

is the update really required or are the games just trying to force it? cos you can block the updates

The games, are the proper games, and are trying to force it..

Try launching the games through the backup launcher channel rather than the disc channel. This should block the updates.

I don't know about Virtua Tennis but Punch Out doesn't require the 4.0 software to run.

Doesn't Virtua Tennis use the new wii motion (or what ever its called?) that needs v4 to work I'm sure.

Yes I used to have the same problem, but through back up launcher all fine :-D

You can also just backup on the usb device, just sent you a pm on how to.

i think there are a couple of solutions out there now to custom update only the IOSs you need. tho assuming you have the ability to downgrade, you can always try going up to the v 4 firmware. if you've done everything in the right order then it's supposed to be fine.
