I couldn't get my Wii to recognise 4gb cards so I guess it's not SDHC compatible.

i dont know much about the wii as i just have got one thats why am asking lots of questions

official nintendo ones are really overpriced for what they are.
I stick with play.com cheap brand 2gb cards (about £4 i think)and have had no problems, they are cheap and will hold loads of wiiware/virtual console games etc.

Only 2GB cards work

ok, so i have a wii and games, do i need to buy one of these cards too?

You don't "Need" one.

They are good because you can then put J-pegs on the console, and then doodle on them, and make puzzles with them.
It's good fun for kids. Better than some of the games.

You can also play MP3's,

I haven't got one, and you don't need one. I don't even understand what it is.

thanks, i'll probably get one at a later date, when the kids get bored and i get more time on it:thumbsup:

An SD card costs about £3 or less. I would just get one.

the SD memory card is mainly used to store downloaded games and mp3 music and photographs, the wii itself has a small amount of internal memory for storage but not a lot.

True, but you can't put J-pegs and MP3's on a Wii without an SD card.
The J-pegs can be stored on the Wii once transferred. The MP3's stay on the SD card AFAIK.

you will need a gamecube controller to play the game and a gamecube memory card to save the game.

I have one - it allows you to use an SD card in the Gamcube memory card slot so that you save them without the official gamecube memory card. (It had other 'hacking' purposes too, but some of them may not work with the latest Wii firmware - not sure about that though, as it's not why I got it.). I bought a 512MB SD to go along with this but haven't yet managed to get it working. It's not plug and play as I'd hoped - you've got to add some firmware to the SD card first I think, but I haven't bothered to work out how to do it. If someone knows, please tell me!

I bought my 2gb card from mx2, it's the Sandisk for Wii one, it's white so looks nicer. Cost me £5.99

It is inside the wii, in the slot hidden by a cover.

i.e You can not see it.

Paying 100% more for this reason is folly.

Oh poo oh well haha!
It's cheaper on play now too. The wii isn't open yet-it's for crimbo, so I just went by others reviews saying the white one looked better... that'll teach me! :D

Actually now the Wii ones are £4 or so they are not bad value wise, £19 or something was a complete joke IMHO.
