Hi guys can anyone help, at first i thought it was the wii sports game as it is scratched when we put it in it said disk error refer to wii manual. All other games worked fine then earlier we inserted another game and the same comment came up. i am wondering if the inside of the wii is dusty or something like that, can i use or should i use one of those cd cleaner discs you get for your stereo or will that break it. your help is appreciated as my 4 year old is having a strop its not working

Have you tried to call the Nintendo support line? mine did the same and they replaced the laser reader thingy all free of charge.

No is: 01753483700 (use this one and NOT the 0870 as it's cheaper!)

Also you may have to hold on a bit but it'll be worth it.

When i called they asked my date of purchase and I told them "don't be so stupid as I don't remember the days I purchase everything!!" I was firm but polite. I was outside of my 12 months but got away with it! I don't think they asked me for a serial no.

But as said, I was on hold for ages!!

My Wii is suffering the disk read error problem too (just noticed today). Seeing as I've had it for 2 years I think I'm stuffed.

I had this happen one or twice too. I just left it a while, turned it all off
at the mains ( went on HUKD for half an hour ) turned it all back on again
and it was ok ( happened again and I did the same thing and touch wood
I havn't had a problem since! ) If this does not work and your wii is OLDER
than 12 months, you have nothing to lose by using a disc cleaner. If your
Wii is less than 12 months old I would take it back where you purchased
it or email nintendo ( cheaper than phoning! )
I hope you get it sorted out ( I know what it's like dealing with an upset
4 year old )

Regards
