Darling Daughters is starting high school this year, and we want to get her a "good" phone ...

Seen loads of deals on the 3 above - almost discounted the wildfire as the "S" is out now but not sure which of the other two (Wildfire S and Galaxy Ace) is best ?

Anyone got / had either (both ?)

With the number of phone's being stolen in schools at the moment, I'd get her a Nokia 3330.

But, the Wildfire S looks a good handset for the price.

(I don't understand all this DD stuff either ??)

My wife just got rid of her wildfire, she reckoned it was slow and she really didnt like it. Just picked up a samsung galaxy ace and it does seem a lot faster. The wife also seems to prefer it over the wildfire

Also the screen on the wildfire was pretty poor, well compared to the desire I had anyway. The samsung screen is not as good as the desire but it seems a lot better than the wildfire

Well the Wildfire has a 625 hzh cpu and the Samsung has a 1gig cpu so it would be faster,
You're not comparing like for like. The Wildfire is a budget smartphone the Samsungs a high end..

Think your thinking of a different phone as the samsung Ace only has an 800Mhz CPU. The Wildfire only has a 527 (or similar) and the Wildfire S a 600 - however that doesnt tell the true story as a fast processor with a poor software implementation can be just as sluggish as a modest procesor with a good Android port

This guy is right, do you actually call her darling daughter? So cringe, reminds me of the killer from the lovely bones for some reason, that sort of guy ;).

I'd go with the ace

For goodness sake - DD (Darling Daughter) is just a bit of internet slang, much as IMHO, LOL etc !

But thanks for the opinion - the Ace certainly seems the better option.
