Yes, unless you're really fat. The closer to the bone the more it hurts!

Nope, not at all. In fact I think my 2 hurt less, 1 was only a henna style design with not much work, the other is a lot larger and heavily coloured so should have been really painful but it was no worse than any other tattoo's I have had.

Just don't go for the ribs, I have 2 tattoo's there down either side from under my arm to the top of my hip. THATS pain.................

Dont have one myself.. keep chickening out. But when I looked in forums, YT vids etc, lots of people said the food was kinda painful. Generally the less fat the more it hurts? Hence why I keep chickening out, I want mine on the inside of my wrists.. my wrists have to be the boniest in the world!

What are you getting?

Foot hurts a lot more than back...........the back is nice and fleshy whereas it will be bouncing off the bone of your foot.

It depends on where on your foot. I've got one that runs from my big toe, across my foot and down past my heel. Certain bits of it hurt more than the two on my back, mainly across the top where it's all bony. When they started on my toe they told me it would hurt the most but I didn't feel a thing lol.

yes most likely
however, u can get numbing cream, that can at least take most the sting out, on me it numbs the area totally. some tattooists will offer it, others dont use it so ud have to get it yourself. only problem is that some chemist are reluctant to sell it to just anyone, so u have to say its for electrolysis. Its called ametop, and has to be applied correctly to work

My friend has one on the inside of both her wrists, she reckons they didn't hurt at all. The tattooist that did her last one said that men seem to handle tattoo's there less well than girls.

Once you are there and having it done you kind of blank out any pain and it goes numb itself I find. Although there are creams you can use but I have never used any myself.

Thats kinda what I have only mine is just plain black, henna style, took a whole 10 minutes to do and didn't hurt a bit, you will be fine even without the cream. I have never used it in my life and the ones on my ribcage took 4 and 6 hours respectively, could have done with numbing cream then I tell you, but for a 30 minute job you wont need it unless your pain threshold is horrifically low.

Iv heard emla can be very good, not used it myself, but I worked in a tattoo studio for a few years and my boss said he switched to ametop as it worked on more people than emla. Last time i bought ametop it was around £3, not sure if it can be bought anywhere but a chemist, iv never actually tried

In my personal opinion, foot hurts more than back, in my years at the studio, the majority of women would agree with me, however, there were some who found it less painful, or not painful at all. Outline hurts more than colouring for the same reason that being stood on with a stiletto hurts more than a flat shoe, the pressure is concentrated to a smaller area, a lining needle is smaller than a colouring one, and a colouring machine generally runs slower, so less 'pricks' in the length of time.

btw, iv always found some really nice designs here

im not actually that bad when it comes to pain, i have had 2 kids, so, pain is ok, its just the fact that its a needle, i am not good with them, and also, the pain been in one area, and if i could stop for a few fag breaks it wouldnt be too bad, but, i dnt suppose any tattooist will be up for that when they got a shop full of waiting people! and the tattooists them selfs are sometimes very imtimidating and do not make you feel comfortable! but never the less, i still want one!! lol

If its biggish Im sure they'd let you have breaks?
Isnt there some downsides to the cream too? I forget what they were (and Im too lazy to check).. can't remember if it was a higher risk of infection, more bleeding or more healing time.. Knowing my memory it was prob something completely different!

Are you still going ahead with it (is it today you're doing it?) x

That's a nice tat but the things that put me off on women are what they will look like when you're 70 and wearing American Tan tights X)

My OH has loads and never says any of them hurt, but i'm sure he's just being macho, they must hurt a tiny bit lol
#19
Its really pretty :)

Deb, just crack open a pack of 70 den american tan.. That should cover it up (or take the focus off your ankle, and onto your orange legs instead!)
