Have a collection of "The simpsons" on VHS.

In years to come, will these ever be worth anything?

How many seasons do you have & what condition are they in ?
They will be worth Money in about 20 years time if you have a good collection & in good condition.

Well with Simpsons having one of the biggest fan bases & like all this sort of stuff like Betty Boo,Star trek etc they do sell for decent money in the future. If you have a Spare place to keep them I would wrap them in cling film & keep them.20-25 Years down the road I would be very surprised if you never made a couple of pound out of them.

20-25 years time! No-one will have heard of VHS let alone have a player. Bin them, they're worthless.

The trouble is with vhs is that it has been replaced by dvd and the simpsons re-released on the new format. Some older sources of media can be collectable like LPs because arguably they retain a certain charm but VHS is just a pretty bad picture. Still as a rule I would store old media. Taking my old sega megadrive as an example. By early 2000s you probably would think that that stuff is so worthless and dated it should be chucked but in recent years it has started to be collectable. Some games going for more than the original price. Can't see that happening with VHS but people should be careful about chucking stuff, unless they have no storage space.

I doubt it, audio tapes haven't really been used in over a decade and are near worthless, VHS tapes will be the same (if they aren't already).
Plus, noone will have a VHS player or want to watch the poor quality video when you can watch it on crystal clear blu-ray.

I think the only way a VHS tape will gain any value is if they contain something unobtainable elsewhere, that some crazy sort might be interested in. S'like, I think there's some Rosanne videotapes that are semi-valuable, because they contain different scenes or a different soundtrack.

Other than special-interest or genuinely rare material though, they're beyond worthless. And to be honest, I'd be surprised if physical media still exists in 25 years.

Yes, even tho theyre a dead, common, good-for nothing, useless storage medium
id say wait a few weeks and theyd sell on ebay for millions.

If I was a big fan of The Simpsons & in say 20 years from now these come up on Auction & are by then Rare.I don't think I would be worried about not having a video player to play them as it's more about owning them as a fan than playing with them.

Only stuff that is not on DVD or is out of print. Simpsons is the opposite of this. Charity shop might get a fiver for them.
#16
No cause VHS tapes deteriorate...Badly. If you vacuum sealed them they might...Actually, no.

Chucked all mine in the recycling. You should do the same.

LOL - no chance whatsoever. Millions of these probably sold and by the time only a few are left, the tapes will be unplayable.

we have a load of VHS tapes I'd like to get on to dvd and then ditch them. Any idea of a cheap way to do it? They're specialist tapes of airplanes etc. Thanks.
