My mum changed her will last week with the solicitor, whilst there I asked him about these "DIY" wills as I haven't yet got one in place. He told me that this is the area where solicitors make most money, trying to sort out these wills after death. My advice would be to leave no questions unanswered and file one with your solicitor.

My ex used to work at a will making company, last I heard, the owner was in "Chokey". :)

This kit is awful. If you go to a solicitors it isnt that expensive and if things go wrong they have insurance to put it right. If you do one of the kits and get it wrong, you only have yourself to blame. IMO, avoid.

I agree with you, get one done properly.

self wills are perfectly ok if your not thick enough to do them, all the money programs say to use them, and if you got millions why worry about a few hundred quid anyway, then just use a solicitor if you have money to waste, if your married and only have a partner no need anyway as it automatically goes to them, you only need will if you have no dependants or you want money to go to someone else.

I disagree with your comment about go to a solicitor if you have money to waste. Something as serious as a will should be given due care and attention. A will is not expensive. Probably between £80-£150.
