I know a lot of deals was on here for windows 7, basically it means we get a full package, but I wonder if the upgrade will be the same price in the future as we paid for the discount price ? But did we just rush out and think we was getting some deal when the deal for upgrades was there already ?

Microsoft confirmed late on Friday that it plans to kill off the Windows 7 'E' version for Europe.

In a statement a company official confirmed Windows 7 E is no more:

"In the wake of last week's developments, as well as continuing feedback on Windows 7 E that we have received from computer manufacturers and other business partners, I'm pleased to report that we will ship the same version of Windows 7 in Europe in October that we will ship in the rest of the world."

Not sure what "last week's developments" were but the EU competition commision may slap them with another huge fine...
I thought that Explorer isn't to be bundled with Windows?

They also say that everything has to get passed the EU commission so the "stome" may not be that set...
but it looks like you'll get the +IE version like the rest of the world if it does happen.

I wonder if the developments from last week were when the CEO of Opera got all uppity that the new browser installation polling screen, which offered IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome, also included the logo for Internet Explorer, which would "unfairly bias" people towards the familiar IE. I wonder if it was this development that made the EU decide that they're all a bunch of knobjockeys, and tell them all to suck their a-hole, stfu and stop whining.

Been saying they should do this for ages. Wabs complaining about MS bundling a useful tool with an OS can suck a fat one, it's not like it's the work of more than five minutes to download a new browser if you wish anyway.
