system image is a complete backup of your system (i.e huge!).

I would switch off backup completely and use a free utility to backup important files only.

this one is superb

A system image is an exact copy of a drive, it includes drivers, system settings, programs and files. so basically when something goes wrong you just restore the image and everything will be as it is when you last backed it up.

the "keep only the latest system image and minimize space used by desktop? " basically means keeping the last backed up image. whereas the other i believe allows windows to store more older images so you can choose which ones to restore.

in short, choose the "keep only the latest system image and minimize space used by desktop? " if you want to free up some space.

check this guide out.

Manage Hard Drive Space

Go to my computer (in start menu) and see how much space you have in each drive...

Then go to start menu and on my computer right click and select manage.

Then find the drive that has some spare space and reduce the partition on that drive, then increase the partition on the drive you want to have more space on....

Press the windows button (usually bottom left and with picture of windows on it) and at the same time the 'e' button. This will open 'explorer' which will allow you to explore your drives. Look for the 'D' drive ind 'double click'. This will show you what you have on the 'D' drive. If there is anything you don't need, right click & select 'delete', and this will remove and free up space. Just be careful you don't remove stuff you do need like programs but music, photos you don't need takes up space. You could instead of deleting move the files to an external, plug in hard drive. Cheap to buy and easyu to use. GOOD LUCK:D

Oh and will probably do only have one hard drive but it's partitioned (meaning it's broken into two peices, but as I have mentioned above you can change the partition sizes.... Just don't reduce by more than the taken space otherwise you'll delete some of your data (it will wanr you your about to do that though so pretty hard and dumb to do).
