Just wondering whether anyone knows how to install Windows 7 Ultimate without a disk on a net book as i have purchased a licence online but have not been given a disk and therefore am a little confused as to how to install the operating system... if any one has any suggestions or links which could help please feel free to comment back... would be greatly appreciated...
Thankyou :D

Just download the installations files and transfer them to a USB drive (you'll probably need a 4GB stick) and then when your netbook starts booting, select the boot options (commonly F12) and boot from USB.

In what format have you got Windows 7? Assuming you can copy it you should be able to install it via a bootable USB drive. I imagine that it's no different to installing XP. There's a tutorial here.

Alternatively if you have it on DVD, you will need to get an external DVD drive and set the netbook up to boot from that.

Save yourself the frustration now and in the future, pay up for the installation media.

The only option apart from using an external dvd drive is via USB flash drive which I dont believ microsoft list as an option for purchase.

The Ultimate Steal page states that you will be offered to buy install media, at an additional cost, during the check-out process.

Isn't Windows Ultimate on a netbook a bit of a waste of time and money?

Like putting a porche engine in a milk float.

Not if you can get it for ~ £30 (ie: less than Home Premium / Pro would cost you)

For a disk, do they snap it up and shove it in the USB port? You can download the iso anyway so you end up with the same. Also ultimate steal is home premium or pro.

Personally I would rather have the original disk, than put it on a recordable DVD.

Didn't realise that the Ultimate Steal was the Pro edition, how many different on-line stores does Microsoft have anyway?
