the wine doesnt give you a headache.......you need to stop drinking south-african reds....they have very high sulfur content.....thats what makes your head sore !!!!!

Hate White wines, gives me migranes :(

The Black Stump Durif Shiraz 2006 (Laithwaites stock it). One of the few I'll happily buy a full case of.

I think he was joking! Don't think anybody would drink Blue Nun on special occasions. In fact, does anyone at all still drink Blue Nun? I remember it as the wine my grandmother's generation used to think was 'classy'. I think it was popular because it was the only wine that people could pronounce!! :p

Big red wine fan and have recently been given a case of the Mendel Malbec, 2006. It's a full bodied, wrap velvety around your tongue kind of wine. Have to say I'm old fashioned and will only buy wines with a natural cork.

If I do drink white wine, Spanish Albarino Mar Des Frades, great with fish, and can only get hold of it in this country via Fishworks restaurant but they let me order it at cost price.

That's as maybe vis-a-vis sulphur ( English please) content. I would blame ketones.
Chateauneuf du Pape is VASTLY overly expensive in my book. I've been to the vineyards above Avignon and haven't tasted anything that I would down in prefence to a £4 S. African or Chilean or Australian red. The French need to get with the game in my book.

So that's we three. I'm drinking a S African red from Morrisons. Good body. High alcohol %. Tasting of lots of ripe fruits and ready to drink now and not in twenty years when the tannins have reduced to a palatable level. I may be a bit tipsy.

With you on the Crest sparkling Rose, usually look out when Sainsburys have them on offer, then buy a box or two.

Also like a nice Cava.. Just finished a bottle of Clos Monistrol.

Not a red drinker...unless that's all we have left...LOl.

My favourite is cloudy bay sauvignon blanc, 2002 if I'm allowed to be fussy, but any will do. £20+ a bottle for 2007.
A good St Julien, 1985 vintage for red. Superb.

This is, of course, when it's being given to me (ie I'm not paying!).

Supermarket stuff, Tesco Finest Pouille Fume at around a tenner is very good. I like a good St Veran too.

I once had a lovely white SB from Bochendaal when in South Africa. I'm not sure if it tasted so good because it was sunny and I was really happy and have good memoies of the day or because it was a fantastic wine as I've had another bottle of what I think is the same wine since and it wasn't half as good.

Tarragona, they sell it in lidl occasionaly, i dont drink wine myself, but my dad and my other half like that, but my dad tends to buy it in france.

the thing with wine is that it doesn't have to be expensive to be a good bottle. although much of the stuff marks and spencers sell is just vile, and anybody who think marks and sparks wine tastes good, needs educating

i love wine, always white.. nothing too dry. unless its a spritzer with lemonade.
Dont have a fav tho, tbh
