Hello,

I am about half way through my first year driving my first car.
Whats peoples advice to buy/recycle from home to use on my car on frosty cold mornings?

And product/advice will be greatly appreciated! :-)

Thanks

One of them windscreen protectors (or 2) from Aldi last week if they still have any left. will save you loads of scraping.

One of the most important things you will need is Anti-freese coolant!

If it gets anywhere near cold as it did last winter then it could stop serious engine damage. it costs about a fiver and if it stops several hundred pounds worth of engine damage then it is money well spent!

Halfords home brand one will work fine, just mix half coolant half water job done :)

wow guys thanks for the advice. the anti freeze coolant seems a good idea. the post for de-icer is obvious, its just some people have told me it can rot the seals of the windows?

im also worried about the locks on my car too!

If the lock gets a bit stiff with the cold, just spray a little WD 40, make sure you wipe any excess that may get on your paintwork

De-icer and scraper, best place to get them from is Poundland as they have the same branded ones that you get at petrol stations who charge 4x the price.
Also a blanket, bottle of water and a chocolate bar (no good in summer as it'll melt), just means if you get stuck somewhere you'll be ok.
