Whats not to believe? Its not exactly a new idea....

The problem is only a small percentage of the power sent makes it to the reciever,

Thats certainly an issue, particularly in these days where using as little power as possible is a priority  Also the total power available is typically very low so not even really suited to charging mobiles etc (typically hundreds of uW to a few mW)

Thats no different to send power along a cable from a power station, over 60% loss occurs using that method

I read somewhere quite a while ago, that they actually have the technology to have electricity piped wirelessly into your houses instead of via a cable... but they either don't want to do it or is too costly to set up.
This idea is cool, but can't see how they get around other people nearby being able to leech off your electric supply too to charge their own devices etc.. unless it has some kind of "pairing" technology included similar to bluetooth?

the amount of power you can move this way is miniscule. and think about it people now, freak out and think that wifi is giving them cancer. start using wireless electric and they'll be crying armageddon

Yeah they have solar power hydrogen generators in gardens in california. They cost around $3000 to install but basically can remove a whole household from the grid forever

Erm, its several orders of magnitude different! Not to mention the power for the transmitter will come over those cables from the power station in the first place!

And 60% transmission line loss? I don't think so. Maybe in terms of loss from the potential energy stored in the fuel to the outlet, but thats not really the same...

go solar it's wireless

Braun toothbrushes are technically 'wireless'. Never had one apart but I imagine they charge by an inductive means.
