if its already attached to ur computer/laptop u can always network it
#6
i,m confused now! its all attached through wires and usb i thought i had to buy a new wireless one? no?

Ethernet laser printers are the way to go. Much more reliable, far fewer of those wireless-related headaches when things randomly refuse to work, and laser printers are great because toner is insanely cheap. I think we've had something like 2000 printouts out of the tenner that I spent on a couple of bottles of toner refill two or three years ago.

if u can keep ur pc/laptop on for when they need to print and have the printer attached to ur comp, its easy

wireless printing comes handy if u dont want it attached to any pc/laptop

sorry to interupt, color laser would be expensive and CISS for epson will be best solution in my opinion.

OP , whats ur model no ?

ciss is available for that.

so if u can spare about £15-£20

that should get u ciss with ink filled for upto about 2000 normal pages if not more

ok ill explain u step by step, ull have to follow steps 1-6 on ur base pc once and then steps 7-end on every computer u wanna connect. its easy.

1. go to control panel --> printer n faxes
2. right click ur printer and properties and then sharing tab.
3. click on If u understand........................................, click here
4. choose, just enable
5. click share this printer
6. put a name, id advise without spaces. so lets say HOMED68

now ur printer is ready to be shared.

1 was an Epson (but cant find it anymore) but was about £50something
2. was a lexmark in PC World and Tesco for under £50 (I think they are crap thou)
3. a HP 5480 Great one and i choose it, it was £54 from Tesco this weekend and the really big ink is 75% off at Play ATM

That CISS thing does look interesting. I don't suppose, have you any idea how much it would cost with one of them to print a 6x4" photograph?

Tesco are doing loads of printers half price at the moment, including an HP wi-fi one for around £50 (can't remember exactly). The price of the ink cartridges are often more than the printer, so whichever you go for check the ink prices before buying.

hp ones are good but most of hp ones have a single cartridge which hold all three colors, making it impossible for CISS to work and too much of a pain to refil it every 2 days.

ive had this ciss for my epson sx200 for more than a week and its simply amazing.

just make sure u get Verison 5 ARC cartridges and works a treat. well id say, very very less.

i bagged myself 500ml color ink(any color) for £5.36 from svp, which is very cheap and will last forver.

wouldnt it be easier to connect the printer to your wireless router? then you wouldnt need the base PC on.

it is not much easier, but pointless imo cos if u have to scan or copy anything, ull ultimately have to go to printer, so wouldnt make sense for me.

and involves extra cost.

so i think networking a printer works nearly the same.
