Well after having a less than successful 1st attempt with going wireless I now need to get a wireless router this time just for use with my PS3, 360 & 2 latops. I'm keeping my desktop wired now, so I'm after some recommendations of a decent price router that is reliable please ?

Id recommend the Belkin N1 Vision but thats £100 at best.

I am an IT professional, and I recommend the Linksys WRT54GL. This is cheap, you can change to custom firmware if you wish, and I currently have more than 9 months up time. Let me repeat that, I HAVE NEVER HAD TO RESET THIS ROUTER, EVER!!

Best router I have ever seen. More reliable than some of the enterprise class Cisco rubbish we use at work!!

P.S I am using VIrgin DSL too.PM me if you want some advice on which firmware is best

Best router I used when I was with Telewest was the D-Link 4300 Gaming Router. Doesn't seem to be working as well since I left the flat so obviously my old flatmates are doing something wrong with it :/

I bought a NetGear WPN824 RangeMax Wireless g mimo router. Got for £70 around a year ago. Should be much cheaper now. Never failed yet. Easy to set up and configure online. Have wired it with Desktop and my PS3 and Laptop are using wireless without any problems.

The Linksys mentioned earlier in the thread. It's now great value and can be flashed with DD-WRT hacked firmware which'll give you endless amounts of settings and nifty things to play with.

You can do the same to the £20+ Belkin routers which are nice, but I find stutter when streaming media over a network.

+1 for the Linksys
