Is it when your ill that you think the worst and decide that there is more wrong with you as i have been ill now for 5 weeks feeling dizzy. I think it s my ears but boy have been through it over the last few weeks worrying. I just get myself back and then it starts again
#8
I have been worried for weeks...But today i feel fine.
I think what i have been worried about is that the results come back all clear..Sounds odd but im getting very confused with myself.

Good Luck, i Hope everything turns out ok for you.

edjaned-The site i mentioned is the sitre the doctor suggested i look at but i know what you mean, the trouble is as they say on the website, you make up more symptoms and cant get it out of your head. You find every lump and bump.
I hope that i have just had an infection in my inner ear as i have felt dizzy for so long, but the docs dont seem too worried so i should calm down a bit, but i am on my 4th day off work.
Oh and the last visit she checked my blood pressure and it was up very slighlty probably due to the stress of worrying.
Dont worry akme, the doctor told me when he blood tested for similar things that they are all treatable anyway, but im sure your fine

Have you got any hobbies? Even if it's something as simple as doing a Jigsaw puzzle.........the time you spend doing that is time when you are not thinking about things. Distraction would help. :)

Yes being around people and keeping busy does help take your mind off things

It may be worth asking your GP for a referral to your local CBT unit for your anxiety issues.
Its likely there will be a waiting list so in the meantime, try the free CBT course for anxiety & low mood here, its been funded by the scottish nhs, and is authored by a leading expert in CBT.
There is also a dvd version available to download, if the web version isnt your cup of tea.

Take work as a positive. You are not letting it hold you back and it shows that you are willing to try to beat it. :)

good luck with the results...just a note though...my mum has something wrong with her thyroid (can't remember if its underactive or overactive) and because of it she gets free prescriptions for life...I know it isn't much of a slver lining but something worth having if you do have it....and you only get this if its one (either under or over) not the other x

akme, i am in the middle of getting loads of tests done for underactive thyroid, i was told it was one thing, and then it's not, i'm on my 3rd round of blood tests, so don't expect the answers to come quickly, good luck though,

if it is an underactive thyroid, expect blood tests every 3 months
#34
do you know when you get the results today??
#35
Good luck, let us know how you get on xx :friends:
#36
Just gave them a call.
Only thing that flagged up was that i need to follow some low fat diet..and come back to get svc checked??
#37
Went it to kick off a bit of a fuss really.
They wouldnt allow me to see my results.
Partner spoke to them and said some kind words.
Ended up with my results but they have old tested for half of the things i asked for.
Anyways switched Dr's tonight. So now have to start over again but hopefully with a better service
