That was due to me being late for work a few days in a row and driving it like i stole it to get in, in time

Oh dear, I just did 260 miles on half a tank (full tank being £50)
#6
My Mk2 fiat punto gets ALOT more miles for £70

But does it put a big smile on your face when you walk out to it in the morning, and an even bigger one when turn the ignition!

I get MOS (miles of smiles) out of my car rather than MPG! lol

I used to have an Imprezza WRX which did 190 miles on a tankful if you were very gentle.

I get 550 out of a tank in my Diesel Mondeo. I'd have to sell my son if I still had the Scooby.

my 1 series M sport does. and it gives me 4x the mileage in the process, so my smile doesn't turn into a ghastly nauseous grimace when i get my credit card bill at the end of the month.

i get 250 on a £60 full tank on the rs which aint too bad i think

far rather have 70mpg than 18mpg even with a smile :-D

difference of about £3000 per year on average mileage :w00t:

still, if you have cash to splash then why not!

i agree with you, but i think to some people having something fun to drive to work makes it not such a bad thing going in to work.

Since getting the car i ahve gone on so many random drives, just because.

But nothing beats the sound of a V6 screaming at 8100 revs on a country road! :whistling:

I had wanted an FTO for ages, but due to it being a group 19 for insurance i had to wait till i was a bit older!

worth every penny spent though imo

150 miles from a £11 tank of petrol

330 miles from a £52 tank of petrol on my other steed.

About 550 miles out of a tank on my TDI VRS, not great for a diesel (largely down to its irritating diesel filter) but it does put a big smile on my face so I can live with it.

My car does around 16mpg, glad I did not go for the petrol variety.
#22
Hubs has got a Celica GT4, i must admit it's great fun on slip roads and moterways but a pain just driving round town.
#23
I'm not trying to rain on your parade but I didn't like the fto at all. It looks great but the suspension was way to stiff and every little bump shattered bones, the 2 litre is underpowered, the cabin too cramped and dated. What's more the insurance is stupidly high and resale awful due to being import. It does look great though...

What diesel have you got, that only returns 16 MPG?

Thats cool.

you find that most of them have been lowerd too much and people put on too bigger wheels.

the 2.0 v6 GPX has the MIVEC and if driven hard(ish) it does what you want it to do, i know 200bhp is low by todays standards but it is still nippy, and has done be proud when needed.

i agree about the insurance! Group 19 WTF!!!!!!

But as you said , it looks the dogs bits for a 15 year old car!

Look at the shiny shiny!

Yeah, my bro in laws fto was lowered I think (I remember he made a conscious choice to avoid any speed bumps!) And I found the ride jarring. It's great you have bought the car you've always wanted though, its a great feeling!

yeah, low curbs and speed humps are no friend of a lowered FTO! :-D

It was either this or a motorbike (well for the time being anyway, bike is next ;-) )

think i get 90 mpg on this amazing looking machine, but petrol is only about 70p a litre here... so think i'd get 1979 miles for £70?!
#29
same as my bmw.

mine does 17 mpg

Dude, you live in Carshalton (its being nicked) :whistling: lol
#31
With a bit of careful driving I could do 1000 miles on £70! Happy days.:)

But I know where you are coming from. I used to get rubbish MPG from my supercharged Saxo VTS and my Skyline GTR.........................body kitted GTS 2.5T.:-D:oops: Ah the days before bills!

125's are impressive for fuel economy, I remember filling one up for the first time and was only going to put a tenner in and could only get about £3.50 into it before it was full. Very nippy up to 50mph on a CBR125 as well.

carshalton is a lovely town, its some of the other towns that i worry about. :whistling:

I was born there and spent the first 8 years of my live in Wallington!
#37
I have managed 600 miles from a £60 fill up of Diesel in my BMW 330D Coupe - 0-62mph in just over 6 seconds, ~230bhp, very fun to drive!
