Woohoo! I've lost 6lbs in 6 weeks on the wii fit

I know it doesn't sound much. But I find it very difficult to lose weight, whilst everyone around me is skinny as a nats widgy.

So to maintain my normal diet, and still lose weight is a real achievement. I've only been doing around 20 mins a day on it.....but well chuffed

water weight probs, id say about 2ish-lbs will of been fat, the rest water and muscle.

For the amount of time you've spent on wii fit, id say that that is a good outcome to be fair.

Well done - to maintain your diet and still lose weight is a very good sign. Best thing to invest in is a body fat analyser - at least you'll know what you're losing, although I would guess the majority would be fat as long as you're drinking plenty afterwards.

How do you know the Wii is the cause of the loss? With 1lb roughly equivalent to 3000 calories you have to come to the conclusion that you've burnt off 18000 calories more over 6 weeks...

18000/(6x7)= 428 calories a day. Or 1285 calories an hour! That's a lot more than vigorous swimming...

Somewhat unlikely... Well done anyway...

I wish I could lose some weight on the wii fit been going on it since the end of august for 1 hour nearly every day, mainly doing jogging, step, hulahoop and boxing, but the most I have lost is 2lb, and I am sticking to a healthy diet.:?

1lb a week is about right for proper loss, if you get a body monitor you will see as fat goes down, muscle increases, water also changes but not that much.
If you eat the same and excersize you loose, thats what foose has done, Nice 1 think I might get a Wii :thumbsup:

not eating well, had alot of muscle to begin with and now the aerobic training is breaking muscle proteins..................................however im sure foosball is losing more fat than water weight the only way to lose muscle really is poor diet. keep it up foosball! i wonna get myself a wii, might have to buy one when i next get paid

Yeah it is timed, but it stil tells you your total spins. My missus has got over 400 on the first one.

But I did the 10 minute one, 5 minutes in either direction.....ouch.


P.S. no cheating, just great movement in my hips ;-)

Easily.

Does depend on a lot of factors though. But when you exercise, you obviously move, which uses your muscles. Your muscles need fuel to contract (move) and repair them and use the most convenient source of energy available. This is usually in the source of carbs stored in muscles. If the exercise is too intense (depending on the individual) the muscle will use protein stored in the muscle as fuel, as it is easy to get too and to break down to use as energy fast. Fat on the other hand is stored all around your body, and to loose it is a much bigger task. You need to get your body in a state where it is breaking down fats and using them for energy instead of other sources. Low intensity exercise usually does this (walks etc).

A lot of the weight loss will be water, and glycogen loss, if not muscle. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat, but with the wii fit, i would still say you would have lost a little fat though.

Diet is the key though. (What you eat, not what you dont!!!!) Biggest thing is to KEEP doing it. Otherwise your loss will really just be temporary, and you are almost certain to put it back on, if not more on if you stop.

20 mins excersize is not when the process stops tho, you continue to burn cals at at faster rate up to 2 hrs after, but yeah I should read LoL if you eat better as well its prob part of the loss, I stand corrected ;-)

I can lose 6-8lbs after a heavy night of drinking - it's dehydration, I know! (I weigh about 11 stone)

Water is easy to lose and I think creditting a loss of 6lbs over 6 weeks to 20 minutes exercise a day is maybe not correct.

Well OP has still lost 6lbs, may it be fat, water, or hair loss!

20 minutes a day isn't much really, i would say step it up when you feel comoftable to do so.

Work hard as you can in the 'work out'.

It's after the work out where you will burn more fat (breathing heavier, which is perfect for breaking down stored fat).

Proper exercies is the way to go, i go for a 3 miles run every morning at 6am. Get back from college/work at 5pm have tea then go for another 3 mile run at 7

I have a very strenuous job, so that gets my muscle workout daily, my shoulders look like a body builders, but I dont get to move my stomach, and like my beer, so i have a beer belly, that with Hula especially is slowly going.
