I have purchased a few Xbox games on 30/11/06 and I chose in store collection. They were supposed to arrive in store today but they haven't! The notice on all the games stated that they are usually dispatched within 24 hours. I suppose that only counts if you choose to have home delivery!

I was wondering if anyone else has been having trouble with Woolies and their in store collection option?

Finally thanks to the member that posted the Argos Xbox deal (that's when I brought mine :) )

My problem with woolies was that they never informed me my purchases were in stock. they said id recieve an email when they arrived, but I never did.
our woolies is quite far away so it was rather lucky that my purchases happened to be in stock when i dropped by.

I hope they do send the stuff out because my stuff does not appear to be on the site now :-( I suppose I will get the "lost" excuse if I miss out.

I attempted to get a PS2 console from them in September by the same method but I just had to cancel the order in the end. Their customer care stinks if you ask me.

I have used WH Smith collect in store a couple of times and have never been disapointed.

Same here - I've used this service 3 times & I only get the email saying in stock, AFTER I've collected!!!

Collected 2 books from separate orders a week past Sunday at approx 12.30pm. Then got 2 emails to timed at 13.05pm to say items in store  . Sent them an email to complain & in reply they just apologised for delay as they say 1 item was in store but other only just sent - EVEN though I had collected.

Also staff on service desk are a bit pants - on each occasion they have been a bit snotty & & asked why I'm collecting when not had email. When I point out that items are showing as instore on my account & I have been charged, they then gone off to check. Surpise - items in stock every time...... numptys :p

I made an order 3 weeks ago.Said delivery in about 5 days time.
Order went to processing for about 2 weeks. Then went to ready for despatch.....and now it's back to processing...aaargh.Contacted them on that rubbish contact thingy. They say it is supposed to be like an online chat and when you leave your message it says you will be contacted within 72 hrs.PANTS.:-(All other orders have been instore and collected by me well before i get the emails to say they are in stock.I got an email once to say that an item had just been despatched......i had picked it up 2 days previous.

Woolworths coolect in store has been a nightmare for me, waited 3 weeks for something to come in, a USB plasma ball. when it finally arrived it was smashed to pieces, bits of glass were falling out the box when they gave it to me, been waiting nearly a month for 2 pillows!

LOL.If the pillows had come with the plasma ball they would have cushioned it and it wouldn't have smashed.:giggle:

woolworths delivery service is rubbish.I placed an order on the 9th Nov. and I'm still waiting for items.Their contact us service is awful it takes them days to reply then they just tell you to wait another day to see if the goods arrive.I've now been refunded for 2 items as they are now out of stock!A rubbish service and I won't use them again. It said on the news this morning that sales are down,is there any wonder!!!!!

Sorry to hear your problems, guys. I guess I've been lucky - ordered 1 item for in store collection on Thursday last week, emailed immediately with order acknowledgements, etc., phone message Monday saying it was at store awaiting collection.

Seems like a ridiculous way of doing things.

They actually post it to the store with your name on, when it's already in stock there.

Why can't they be given from the stores stock, and then have them added to the next normal delivery.

I had to wait 2 weeks for a PSP to be delivered, when they had them on the shelf in the store.

Ordered a couple of things to 'collect in store'. Cant knock them in the way of letting me know, as I have always received texts in good time.

Went to collect my first item, and the box was badly damaged, (which was part of the display), so they got me a replacement which I had within the week, so cant really complain.

My next 'collect in store' is thw Wii - lets hope they're as good this time considering they 'guaranteed' it for the first week of release.

Yes, it is a bit hit and miss, and they're far from on the ball when you go to collect your items.

The strangest thing is, they send me a text message to my landline when it comes in stock. How did they know I could receive them?

Then I get the email about 2 days after.

If you have a mobile phone, they txt you, but I haven't so I got a computerised voice informing me that my item is in. Great, if I answer the phone, but I can't rely on the clowns in my office to pass on that info :p

All landlines can receive verbal text messages, its very funny try typing a text and send to your home telephone number, you can get it to say whatever you want.......its very entertaining - and childish but still its funny:p

Different voices for different service providers I think. Tom Baker is BT.

WHSmith do this too. We had to make 2 trips to the store to collect some online ordered books which were plainly on display on the shelves. It wasn't a problem because we regularly pass our local WHS.

The nearest Woolworths is a 20 min. drive away. So, we just bought the 3 for 2 items when we saw them, as I knew there would be the same problem with collect in store there.

It's the usual problem of 2 different departments within these stores not communicating efficiently and having different budgets.

Apparently my goods are now available to pick up in store. I have had no emails I have just checked the status on "My Account". The last time I went in to collect on another order I made before with the "goods are now available to pick up in store" they did not have them!

Just wanted to know should I go in and collect or wait for some emails? I was getting a bit nervous about not getting my stuff before Chrimbo:santa:

You could try calling customer services on 01706 862789 but unless they can contact your local store for confirmation, the only alternative is to wait a few more days and hope that the goods have arrived by then.
