Woolworths Sale - An update! 90%!

Okay folks, I was speaking to a friend of mine who works for Woolworths, said that they have started recieving POS to change their store for one final push and as you have expected there will be further reductions for those holding off.

I'm just posting this to let people know to hold off for a few days as some of the POS Advertisement Material they are recieving is stating 90% off.

I'll post you more details as and when I get them, but try and hold off if you can because the current sale is a dissapointment, it's set to get a whole lot better!

So they change the 50 to a 90 and make the "UP TO" even smaller!

Most stores are bare and what's left is widly varying. There are sure to be queues for the tat that's left over, so not worth the bother IMO.

It's a sad end - I'd rather have seen them just close the place than this ongoing shambles.

well if it is a closing down sale it is gonna get reduced until all the stock is gone:)

Cheers for the heads up.

Great if it happens though my local store didn't have a heck of a lot less. People were buying stuff which wasn't even reduced much for no particular reason!

I got a great birthday card for 50% off but just because it's closing down people had made such a mess of the display I couldn't find the matching envelope and had to settle for one almost the right size instead! Some of the envelopes had footprints on them.

It was very sad - people behave like animals in there! I know it's closing down but there's no need to behave that badly. I was trying to respect the staff who were still doing a sterling job despite the circumstances.

Did a HOT, hope it comes through. Thanks for the heads-up.

My son who works for Woolworths says they have now stopped receiving deliveries and are now only selling what they have in the store. Hid did say they will continue to sell at the current discounts which already include 10p items of old stock such as "my first chrismas 2003" stockings!
#13
all stores have received pos for 60,70,80,90 off however these will be used in stages as and when stores close i would imagine - there is NONE out yet anywhere
#14

we got 60 cages of stock last night and a further 40 due on tuesday my delivery was hours late because of so much stock being delivered into the warehouse by suppliers

I'm sure I read somewhere that all the entertainment stuff would be returned and not reduced any more than the current 10%. There's not much left apart from that to be honest.

My local store is almost bare not worth the hasel with ques if you did find a bargain. Isn't it sad how mad people go when a shop is having a closing down sale? It's a shame for the people who have worked there for years to be subject to such behaviour, keeping in mind they are losing their jobs so close to Christmas (not that anytime would be good)
#18
my store got take that, killers, duffy albumns etc about 3 boxes worth yesterday but there is vey little entertainment left
#19
90% off **** = no sale no profit bye bye woolies .
#20
the only sad thing in this scenario is the loss of jobs. woolworths - even the 'closing down sale' has items steeper than tesco. need i continue ?

bradman finished on 99, why not woolies . . .

Feel guilty stepping into the store. Staff putting on a brave face. Didn't buy anything.

I've got a friend who works there and she's sad that she's losing her job. A bit of history is going, people.
