Agree with some of the comments above, I work in a school (not as a Teacher though I QUICKLY add) and whilst their hours seem to be less, they work far more with after school clubs, lunch clubs, homework to be marked, work to be prepared for the next day etc etc. Yes they might get stick for getting so much holiday but my goodness me do they earn it, I wouldn't be a teacher for all the money in the world, especially a secondary school one but congrats to you anyway as it sounds like something you've always wanted to do - GOOD LUCK!!

Congrats to you I hope you enjoy it

congrats,
have you got your suit of armour yet?

Its a Full time in house supply position with a tutor group, so I wont have the extra prep hours or marking.
i will be taking on some clubs both after school and lunch, but that will be more interesting than anything else! I already give god knows how much time of my week over to managing an U15 cricket team as well as coordinating the other 5 youth teams in the club!

I'm currently a full time (35 actual contact hours) a week in a college, and I've taken on running some of the classes and i love it, so this is a natural progression :D So not an NQT just yet, but probably looking to do QTS next year rather than PGCE, but we will see how it goes!
