Mine is Jamaica House in Upper Parliament Street, Liverpool (Toxteth I think). It was my last resort and either that or sleeping on the street for a night in January. Worst tenner I ever spent. I didn't even risk the bed, just sat on the chair watching TV all night and left swiftly at 6am.

The Blackpool Belle hmmmm holiday memories we had all been joking that you hadn't "done" Blackpool until you had found a b&b with no hot water, mismatched linen and a window hanging off..........or at least we though it had been a joke.

Got there, knocked the door, to be greeted by a woman exclaiming "have them down the road told you we've got rats??? we dont have rats, but they say we have !!!" and that was the start of it all falling apart.

The bed was a divan with 2 different mattresses piled on top of one another, not one part of the bed linen matched, the ashtray in the room was one of those wee disposable ones which hadnt been disposed of, rather just, emptied out and left for any further use. The hot water didnt run in the bedroom, and whilst giggling away at the state of the place I took it upon myself to open the tiny window, which promptly "fell" off its hinges at one side.

Turns out we couldnt lock the door either so for 2 girls alone it was a bit of a security risk, so we moved the bed to jam the door........only to find a bed sized cut out on the carpet (I can only imgaine they were being economical and using the cut out in another room)

The shower ran hot and cold and didnt have a lock on that door so I spent my morning jumping in and out of the shower in front of my mate who had to stay in the room and sit with her back to the door to keep it closed, she didnt even bother showering, it wasnt worth the risk of being either frozen to death or scalded.

The next day a guy asked us if we had gone for brekkie, we told him we hadn't been brave enough, then he told us he had woken up covered in little "bites"...............oO

I will NEVER joke about Blackpool and the state of their B&B's again !!! In saying that the place could be different now, I for one will stick to Premier Inn though, oh and I didnt do the choosing, that was my mate, needless to say, she didnt get a choice in accommodation ever again.

What did you expect for a tenner?
Personally I'd vote for the Ramada Guildford/Leatherhead. Such a let down. Over priced. Unhelpful staff, and the room was bearable hot [40+C my gps has a temp function]. When I complained they gave me an AC that didn't cool the room but was so noisy kept me away most of the night.
Oh yeah the complimentary paper and water never arrived....
Okay. It's not as bad as Jamaica House but I paid 13 times more so it wouldn't be...

Nice, a classic story from Sunny Blackpool. :):)

Gotta love Blackpool. we knew what we were letting ourselves in for before we got there, but seriously, I have NEVER in my life seen anything as bad as this. Just looked at their site and for part of 08/09 they too were offering rooms for a tenner, needless to say my mate paid a slightly more expensive sum of £25p/p for the pleasure that evening gave us.

Good job we were 3 sheets to the wind when we got home, but its Blackpool.........you kind of expect it in a way. Still love Blackpool and all of its classic tackiness though, dont care what anyone has to say, although if I was going anywhere with kids I would head to Scarborough, for what it lacks in Pleasure Beach as a seaside town it more than makes up for in its lack of drunks with checked shirts and orange girls with barely any clothes on.

I feel sick thinking about it, but weston super mare, I took my two boys when younger for the night and it was crawling with bed bugs :( did not find that out until night time. All over the bed, blood stains, we slept on the floor rolled in a duvet :|

Europa at Gatwick, lucky we only had to stay one night..
got there at 2am from a flight, was too tired to look properly, until the morning: but bathroom was filthy,
itchy blankets, rock hard mattress, squeaky floorboards from neighbours, cracked glass in the 1 tiny window, dust everywhere..
urgh, makes me squirm thinking bout it!

Mine was in Poland and it was called hotel Boss, NIGHTMARE. The shower door fell off and left a nasty bruise on my leg! Bed wasn't very comfortable and the 'breakfast' wasn't up to much either.

I decided at the last min to go to a footy match (Liverpool v Soton - am a Saints fan) on the Friday daytime. There was engineering works on the trains on Saturday so I thought "I'll just go up tonight, find a hotel so I'm in the pub early doors tomorrow". Except I didn't realise it was Creamfields that weekend and got to Lime Street & was unable to find ANY other hotels (literally went through a yellow pages). It was a last resort and I didnt know the area at all. The taxi driver did double check I meant Upper Parliament Street, LOL.

I had a terrible time at pontins this summer. It cost so much money for a weekend in one of their "top apartments". Was meant to be the best of the best and it was a poo hole! Here is just one thing that made me ill.......
http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu278/Daisydakota/SDC10322.jpg

The kitchen sink, the little draining board bit was filled with filth and either someone elses old rice or maggots! I had to wash babies bottles in that sink and no way did I put them there to dry.

Looked like about 20 years of scum.

Does Centre Parks count? That was probably the worst for the initial period until we complained a lot.

When we got there there were men in, and they said the toilet was blocked and it would be about an hour, so we thought that's a bit annoying np and went to the main bit, get a call saying it's sorted, go back and it is. The only thing is they unblocked it and then dumped all the poo and toilet roll that was blocking it at the side of the cabin on the path to get round to the back (on a few leaves to try hide it), they couldn't understand what the problem was with that (it stank aswell), in the end they moved us to a different cabin eventually. It was fine after that but needless to saw we'll not be returning.

Moral of this story: Stop going on holiday with your mummy.

The only one we have ever actually left without staying the full duration was the one opposite the Trevi fountain in Rome. It was a filthy dump. It was more than 20 years ago, so it's either disintegrated or been done up by now.

I feel sick reading some of these http://serve.mysmiley.net/sick/sick0001.gif

Did stay in a dodgy B&B in Blackpool about 20 years ago - tiny room and clean enough but woke up to watching loads of wee beasties going round and round the light fitting on the ceiling. They were coming from a gap in the light fitting so god knows what the room above was like! We left that day.

Everytime you see the the Trevi fountain in a film or programme it looks like such a beautiful area. I was pretty disapointed when I got there.

Big problems at this Southend hotel. Resulted in a big argument between myself & the owner so not saying too much about it other than AVOID !!

Also stayed on a boat ( botel ) on the river Danube in Slovakia once which gave me food poisoning from the breakfast & a cockroach infested Days Inn somewhere in Florida many years ago.

It's not my fav area of Rome either, nor the Spanish Steps! At the time of the horrible hotel, the fountain was scaffolded up as well!

stayed in a B&B in blackpool, in a side street off the main drag.. ( near the Viking Hotel ) can't remember the name - £40 for "double" ( 8' x 9' )room ... when you walked in the door hit the side of the bed, at the end of the bed was a small wardrobe. The en-suite was amazing. You could only fit one person in at a time! and you couldn't shut the door if you need to sit on the pot for a #2 it banged against your knees ...
Amazing.. would def reccomend the food though :)
