Clearly people do, that's why they do it.

Don't see the problem myself, obviously just trying to be helpful.

Love Nigerian Scam Emails - they genuinely give me a giggle to see how poorly constructed they are.
There was a site a while ago that posted these emails and how the baiter actually managed to get money out of the scammer.

had a call from a bloke in India about my computer..

.I told him some details about his mother that he wasn't aware of previously.

I had a weird call the other day with a lady from Microsoft who said suspicious activity was happening on my account so I needed to change my settings or delete account. I said OK delete account expecting her to want to take control of my computer but she just replied thankyou and goodbye. This worried me more than the usual scam callers as I don't know what she was actual trying to achieve.

It is done quite deliberately OP
The theory is only people with lower intelligence who are more likely to be scammed will answer

really? That seems strange to me, would've thought that it would have to at least make sense for someone to fall for it.

Ooooh, tricky call; the English spelling and composition is much better than that of some of the people who post on HUKD!!!! X)X)

I'm with you on that. Surely it needs to look legit to be taken seriously?

They want to take control of your computer, so they can drop some ransomware on you. All of your files will become encrypted, so you can't do anything with them, and you'll have to pay the ransom to have then unencrypted (which they'll probably never do).

Excellent - well worth a read. So many subtleties such as Phil and Grant the Credit Controllers, Nathaniel West the Bank Manager, BIAFRA etc. More recommendations?

I've read a few but that's the best I've read, so I'd rather bow out at the top of my game X)

This was the best bit for me X)

That also pulls the chain on another good idea I had this afternoon: I had thought that with the new investment you’d be bringing into my business, we could open up a new chain of smart and fashionable wine bars called “Bah’s Bars”. I had it all worked out in my head as well. They were going to be completely themed around your name: people would order their drinks at the bah... they’d be served by bahmen and bahmaids... and if they caused any trouble, the bahncers on the doors would sort them out. And if they were really troublesome, they’d be bahhed.

I once sent an message to Deeky, telling him his Paypal account had been frozen because he had sold nudes on ebay that the buyer had never received. In order to unfreeze his account he would have to reply to this message with the nudes and if he didn't the case would be passed onto the police.

Didn't work though. I forgot PM's have you name on them when you send them and unfortunately he's not stupid :(

I love baiting these people. My theory is that the longer I can keep then on the phone the less time they have for other people.

I guess it's just not meant to be *deep sigh*. I'll have to keep buying Playgirl in the hope they print them, rather than keeping them for themselves.
