my daughter bought an mini ipod shuffle on boxing day from argos.It stopped working 3 weeks ago and looked for reciept but couldnt find it so she returned it to the shop anyway and they sent it to get repaired ,Got it back and it worked for 2 days then it stopped working again so today I returned it to argos and the woman sent it back for repair again . Just wondered if i had any rights at all anyone know ?

Rights for what? Its a faulty product... without receipt Argos are under no obligation to do anything to be honest!

Argos could say,well how do we know it was bought here etc. Lucky they sending it back for repair.
Personally after 2 repairs,I would want a replacement but I don't know how you cna go about it. Don't suppose paid with a bank card and you have statement. Cos then Apple may accept that back as kind of receipt if current selling price matches. All depends if their customer services goes extra mile.
What I do with receipts of items that cost a fair bit that I purchased in shops,is I scan them and save them up on here. Comes in handy,most companies will take a copy off receipt that you printed off computer.

the annoying thing is its twins i have and they bought the ipods on the same day and i have a reciept for one of them but it says the wrong colour !!! the faulty one is blue and i have a pink one !lol:x

if you can show a bank statement with the payment going to them you might have a chance of getting a refund, have a look at trading standards website for more advice

I'm petty sure you don't need a receipt for a faulty product, if it's under a year old I think the store is supposed to send it for repair or replace it, I don't think they have to refund you thou.

Other wise check the instuction manual to see the terms of the warranty and contact the manufacturers direct, most large manufacturers are fairly good about that sort of thing as they'd rather repair/replace that have negative publicity.

do you get a guarantee with the ipod?
also argos have been quite good for sending faulty products off for repair my dad had the same problem and they sent it to vodafone for repair, which as after 4 months, but that some service you would get at other shops

thats a good idea the annoying thing is its twins !! they bought the ipods on boxing day one pink one blue and they have the reciept for the pink one how unlucky is that when its the blue one thats broken !!!:roll:

if you have one of the receipts you should know roughly when you bought the other one from it (ie 1 hour before or after that time - you state you bought them on the same day) take your receipt into argos and ask them to check for the item and give them the hour leeway and that will then show up your purchase and voila you have a copy of your recpeit from argos and they will then refund your money due to faulty goods

I was going to say about bank statement, too - if you have one then that should suffice.

Me though, I would try my luck with the receipt you have if you haven't got a bank statement.

Try it at a different branch, some of them just ain't bothered so you might be lucky - just have you got the front?

Buy another one and switch it over before returning for refund :whistling: if they arent willing to search their records!

phone customer services and explain the situation - they might be able to do something more than the store can

Don't think it will be a problem as they have already accepted it as theirs by doing the initial repair and will probably be able to verify it as one of theirs by serial number, see this site for more

if you pay by card you can show them ur statement and asked for a refund or replacement. as they have the obligation to do so because u bought it from them. I return something last week from argos and show them my statement and i asked for refund. so i got it! and the item i bought was from last december. good luck
