Would you get free Wifi sitting in McDonalds car park?

£0.00 @ McDonalds
I know there is wifi in their restaurants. Would it work, just sitting in their car park? Is there some sort of code needed?

If you are in a macdonalds car park and want to pick up WiFi, park next to one of the bins as the bins are placed over remote access points that conceal routers and other circuitry licenced and owned by BT that enable maintenance of phone lines and internet reception.

What about Tesco car park?

Do you have the unfriendly virus?

Thanks for your answer and I better not ask anymore questions again although some of the kids are entertaining in their replies.

I can't help but be suspicious about people wanting anonymous internet access. What are they looking at/downloading?

probably looking to pull some sort of scam such as dealing in stolen phones

So if you had bought a stolen phone off some dodgy ebayer that wouldn't work on any UK networks...and the phone was like a Samsung Galaxy S2...you would hand it into the police and lose £400 or sell to USA and get your money back?

If you say hand it to the police, I believe you are a liar.

How would you "lose" £400 if you didn't have it in the first place.

Idiot.

I'd look on the phone for "home" or "mum" or something similar and ring them telling them i'd found their phone, blocked or not, would you want someone to keep your phone?

I bet you're that was your mum was on my tram experience.

According to you you didn't buy it, even if you did, that is what paypal buyer protection is there for.

Oh, I am an idiot. Internet insults, serious business!

If I paid the seller £400 for the phone, and I couldn't use it in the UK, then this would be a £400 loss......unless I sold to the USA.

What if the phone was brand new and stolen from somewhere like a shop so there were no contacts on it.

That's different. You said you were thinking of buying it even though you suspected it was stolen. http://www.hotukdeals.com/misc/bought-stolen-phone-ebay-will-work-usa-1095342#post13156552
So the only possible reason to buy it, knowing it was stolen, could be to make a quick buck (see what I did there?)
Op why don't you just go away. Not to put too fine a point on it, but you're an idiot.

boothy, say you bought a mobile phone on here, that turned out stolen. The seller was using a university ip address, gave you no details, not replying to emails etc. Would you hand the phone to the police, or sell to USA? The phone value was £400.

I wouldn't have been thick enough to send someone like that £400 so your question is pointless

[email protected] getting details and performing checks

why would you give a complete stranger £400 without getting a single verifiable detail from them and using a payment method that was also untraceable? If you did that then you would be an extremely stupid person.

Say I bought a Galaxy S2 from ebay with a seller with 0 feedback.

I pay them, they receive the funds and withdraw to their bank. I receive the phone 4 days later, the funds have already cleared in their bank. The phone turns out stolen. What is the solution?

what you really mean is if you sell a blocked phone with a new ebay account and withdraw the money to your account can you be caught....

Johnboy_1975...ok say then the seller had 1 million positive feedback, but there account had been hacked by a fraudster, selling stolen phones. What is the solution? Sell to the USA?
#38
ORCA - simple question, please just give a simple answer.

If you suspected the phone was stolen and probably blocked, which you did, why would you buy it?
