Would you "grass someone in " for lying to get a house?

Just heard that someone I know is kidding on they are single and homeless to get a new house. They have already changed their name on fbook, and changed relationship status to private. Now I believe in karma, I would never grass anyone in, however, how do you feel about this. I personally think its doing genuinley homeless people out of a house.

Yes.

Someone who was actually deserving could have had that house.

TBF the system is so s*** you have to do what you can. Even living rough on the streets doesn't guarantee you a house.

House market was very different back then. So is the employment market. If you've been able to pay your mortgage, you've been extremely lucky. The house market, both buying and renting, has been destroyed by the buy to let losers.

If they're single, they're not a priority housing need anyway, unless they have kids, or are from a foreign country.

Too many people poking their noses in and moralising over other peoples' business nowadays.

Take care of you and yours and let others do the same.

Lucky??? Or perhaps just hard graft and not sitting on his backside claiming. We have friends who lost their jobs - one in particular was in an extremely well paid job but took a lower paid job as that ensured her mortgage/bills etc were being paid.
If she had to take a lower paid job, she wasn't worth her salt anyway. And many people get a mortgage commensurate with their wages, so a lower paid job wouldn't help.

Funny how people think you can get a job easily these days. Would be interesting to see some of them made redundant.
#13
how do you even know the criteria that need to be filled......is being single more a priority than being a couple in your area?
#14
depends on how well off they are if they are just surviving no if they drive a flash car and have lots of spare cash yes,

You mean the thing most people don't pay as they don't earn over the personal allowance, and claim Working Tax Credits?

so youre not homeless or in need just jealous because you havnt learned how to play the system properly?

Happens all the tme where I live. They get their Parents to write a letter to the Council saying they are being thrown out. Many are adequately housed or their Parents are fine having them live there.
#27
I'm hoping that during this 12 year period that you have been "waiting" for a house that you have been working hard to provide for your offspring that you chose to have?

It does not in any way affect you directly though, does it.You would still pay the same tax anyway would you not?

It is not just workers who pay tax btw,non workers also pay tax both directly ie pensioners(well my father certainly pays income tax still at the age of 75) and indirectly through the purchase of goods and services, yes even those who are in receipt of state benefits will pay some tax.

We live in a society where we pay taxes to benefit the good of the nation as a whole,it all goes into one big pot to pay for health, education, policing and various services both local and national that make this a civilised and in the main safe and secure place to live.We all benefit from this pot at some stage in our lives and are thankful that it's there.

If getting angry and indignant over someone you don't know and will never meet 'allegedly' fibbing ion the system to make life better for themselves, then it suggests to me that you don't really have much to worry about in life.

Shopping this individual will not reduce your tax bill.

im afraid in this day and age when youve got people coming from other countries that are getting told how to play the system you need to start doing so yourself.....survival of the fittest

surley theyre going to get to an age where its impossible to have them all in 1 bedroom so you need to start looking at ways in which the council will look at rehousing you......id be making friends with these people and asking them for some advice tbh rather than "grassing" them up

I'd "grass in" anyone.

i think you should stick them in, why should some of us have to work 2 jobs just to pay a mortgage and forever rising bills/car expenses, when others scam the system like this.

Perhaps if the millions who do scam the benefits were stopped, they wouldnt have to make so many tax rises and cuts to our services to reduce the countries debt.

And as this thread seems to be turning into a debate about benefit scroungers -

Would it not be a good idea for the government to introduce some sort of system where all people on the doll/jobseekers were to work at least 1 full day a week doing manual labour of some sort to earn there money?
Litter picking, gardening for old people, shovel snow etc.

Make them earn the free money that they get, whilst doing the community a service

I can understand YOUR anger and frustration in this particular instance.

It is shameful tbh that we have a situation in this country where there is insufficient social housing to meet the needs of the nation.Thank Thatcher for starting the ball rolling with the Right to Buy scheme(thus ensuring future votes and a grip on power) the last Labour lot did not do enough either to make better this appalling situation.

I wish you luck in finding better suited accommodation in the future.:)

Why have more kids than you can afford?
