To the monkeys at Autoglass that were so careful in repairing the tiny chip in my windscreen that they made it into a big whopping crack.
The crack is now an MOT failure (the chip was not) and therefore i now need to have a new windcreen fitted.
Oh and according to my insurers i will be using autoglass to replace the windscreen...

Surely they can't get away with that?? I'm sure they can contribute / or pay the excess to have your window replaced. You shouldn't be put out by their cack handedness!

i had a chip in mine too and got it repiared by auto glass free on insurance however within a week the chip started getting even worse so i too had ato get a new windscreen , i'd complain i was going to but never got round to it. What did they say when it happened?

You usualy have to sign a disclaimer saying you accept this may hapenn as they have to grind the chip so it has a inner lip for the filler material to hold.

A/G - we've finished with your car sir, come and have a look.
ME - looks bigger than when you started...?
A/G - yeah unfortunately we were unable to fix the chip on this occasion, but the window is fine for now.
ME (sat in car looking at chip from within)... uuummm, the chip appears to be a crack now..
A/G - yeah, it was explained to you prior to treatment that there is a risk that further damage sometimes occurs... would you like to book it in for a replacement?
ME - well i suppose i'll have to seein as you've made it much much worse.

Lol, on phone with insurance now seeing if its me that paying the excess (looking likely)

update,

My insurance have been on the blower to Autoglass explaining that they do not feel that i should have to pay the excess payment as the damage was caused by the autoglass fitter,
Apparently i will be phoned tomorrow morning by Autoglass for them to speak to me, Insurance company seems confident that Autoglass will waive the excess payment
