Have a read through this Lovefilm term

7.5 You must wait a minimum of four working days before reporting a disc as not received or lost on the way back to us. It is your responsibility to then report all lost discs online. We are unable to offer a refund for any discs which are paid for by you and then found at a later date. You must comply with either Royal Mail's claim compensation process or our process. Failure to comply with these processes, as amended from time to time, will result in a charge being made for the lost disc. The current charges are £10 per lost DVD, £17.50 per lost Blu-ray or HD DVD disc and £25 per lost game.

i wouldnt do it with DVD, blu-ray or HD dvd but think about PS3 games they cost 39.99 in the shops.

Dont post the game wait for 4 days and report the disc lost or stolen ( stated in 7.5 first line)

Ive never used love film but surely you can get promo disks and stuff as cheap as that on ebay
#5
Yeah for the sake of a few quid extra, and a lot less aggro I'd rather just buy a 'new' copy online.
#6
No and I wouldn't shoplift one from HMV either. Can you explain how this is any different?
#7
Surely the games would be classed as rental copies and be in sleeves, thus if wanting to re sell, you would only get a small amount of money.

Well personally whenever i make a purchase i think about how much i will get if i ever want to sell it, alot of the time its best to go for something a bit more expensive if it will hold its value better.

Exactly. For instance people by second hand cars because normally when you buy first hand, the value drops as soon as you drive it.

Anyone who pays £39.99 for a PS3 or 360 game is stupid.

ah, so you would pay the penalty - I though you were intending to sign the form saying it was lost in the post and keep the game for nothing. My mistake.

Well as some others have said - they are rental copies so only worth about the £25 (you might want to trade in too and they will not take them).

This seems very wrong, verging on a scam.
Lovefilm will have to pay over £25 for the disks I am sure, especially as they are rental versions they pay extra, so it does not seem right profiting from their service, which most of us will have got for free at some point with their generous free trials.

Why would you want to pay £25 for a scratched up disc that has not case or booklets?

Seems a bit pointless to me. But each to their own. At least you haven't suggested reporting it as lost to the post office.
