I have a splint on and have to use crutches if walking a distance and I am supposed to be going out tonight, its a joint special occasion and thats the only reason i'm considering it. Problems aplenty though, toilets are always up/downstairs, taking an age to get anywhere, will have to wear flats and dont have any dressy ones, long/loose clothing to get over splint, oh god I think ive talked myself out of it, grrrrr. What would you do? should i just stay in and mope, to miss celebrating 2 occasions is making me upset *blub*

Attention seeking thread!! http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii78/chesso_photos/animated%20smilies/hukdgiggle2b.gif Only joking.http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii78/chesso_photos/animated%20smilies/hukdoops.gif

Seriously, don't all places now have to have disabled access to a loo??

You must go, of course and I'm sure you'll be able to glam up enough. Plus you will be able to trip up likely guys with your crutch.

Have a good time. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii78/chesso_photos/animated%20smilies/hukdthumbsup2.gif

You simply HAVE to make up a heroic story about how you came to be on crutches! rescuind a fluffy puppy/saving an old lady from a mugging or similar-this will keep the guys in the pub well entertained and guarantee free drinks. Possibly even more drinks if you claim it happened while experimenting with some bizarre sexual position!

As for toilet facilities, just get a large nappy and sit there all night drinking everyone under the table without ever needing to go to the loo-people will be amazed at your bladder power!

Go out you miserable woman, enjoy yourself! Get men to do everything for you, it's the best way...even if you don't have crutches.

snap!! Ive been on crutches for 8 weeks due to a torn ligament, no fun whatsoever, I just want my life back. If going out cheers you up GO FOR IT!! Just be careful, once people are drunk you dont want anyone knocking your leg.

hey guys, I stayed in, it was the thought of coming off the painkillers in order to have a drink that really swung it, that would have been too much as I still need them. On the plus side my purse still has money in it and i'll spend the first birthday since my *cough16thcough* with no hangover so its not all bad, I have a feeling this is going to be an ongoing dilemma as I dont seem to be getting better any time soon, grrrr

Go, when I used to go out in Sheffield with 20 student nurses, one of teh girls always had a set of crutches, we would send her to the bar and even though the bars were often 10 deep the men would part for a pretty girl on crutches, saved us plenty of drinking time.

thanks fern, defo cant drink on my painkillers, they knock me out as it is. I'm at the fracture clinic tomorrow so we'll see, supposed to be away next weekend too so I'm getting a bit fed up. Fingers crossed for a good diagnosis tomo.
