Pity about the rest of their service.

Total opposite with me...

Bought a laptop, but recovery partition wasn't there (tried to create cd/dvd). Contacted them for some recovery discs and was told the item is faulty and to return it :?

Sod that, I'll contact HP and get some discs sent.

I've only had to return an item twice, and both times they were very good and made the process easy via their automated RMA service.
#8
do they make you pay for the return delivery?
#9
Nope, they refunded the postage. Mind you, this was about 2 years ago.

My item was about 6 weeks old hence my problems, they state after 31 days they no longer accept returns. I told them this was BS and against the law, but they still told me I had to deal direct with manufacturer.

The manufacturer was a Micky Mouse chinese company (Foxconn - which stands for F***ing Conning Foxy Tw*ts for those who don't know), who said they did not deal with European operations in this way and I had to deal with the Vendor. I told them I got no joy from Vendor but they still would not listen.

Ebuyer still told me to naff off when I explained my situation.

Oh and I will never purchase another Foxconn product as long as I live.

Anyone know how to return a faulty ebuyer item purchased via google checkout? As I have a different gmail address to my ebuyer email address, the order does not show up when I log into ebuyer. I have tried contacting ebuyer via the google checkout route but my emails just get ignored and I tried their returns telno but gave up after waiting 40 minutes in a queue!

If only their aftersales service could match their sales service! I won;t be using ebuyer ever again.

Ive had to return a few items in the past to ebuyer and although they took their time with processing the returns, they always refunded me and always included postage in the refund to.

Had the same problem....call them nearer 7pm at night. Because you used Google Checkout you have a new Ebuyer membership ID. They will give you all the details on the phone. I contacted them last Friday about a faulty item....waited 3 mins on the phone and got all the details sorted. I arranged the item to be picked up by courier (free of charge) on Monday. They emailed me yesterday to say the item was indeed faulty and the replacement is due to be delivered tomorrow! Can not complain about that in all honesty. Only gripe is them using a 0871 contact number:x

Ordered 3 seagate hard disc this month on separate orders.

The first was supposed to have a 5 year guarantee but according to the seagate site it only has a one year warranty.

The other 2 ordered on the 9th and 10th were due for delivery on 18th but never arrived. Called them yesterdays, 2 people in q before me. explained situation, girls said she would put me on hold and call supplier- the phone rang for about 3 minutes (costing me a fortune on 0871 number on mobile) then she cut me off! But she knew the problem. 2 separate orders bothe drives should now be put on next working day delivery (that's what they do when they miss a delivery date) and they should be here on 19th as they were in stock.

I called back 5 mins later.
7 people in the q b4 me. Waited several minutes, explained situation and that I had been cut off. Said she would have to call supplier. I said, joking, you won't cut me off will you? She said, I promise wont cut you off and laughed. You've guessed it - she cut me off.

I called back. 19 people in q b4 me. I waited an eternity. Explained situation again. said she would sort it out. Should get them 19th.

So 3 Yorkshire lasses all working to ensure that my drives are only 1 day late.

It looks like 1 was despatched yesterday but according to citylink it's not on a van yet so probably won't be delivered till tomorrow. The second one has only just been despatched and there's no tracking information.

Very annoying as I'm waiting on these drives for a new build.

All 3 girls said they would refund delivery charges on both orders but I bet they don't

Foxconn are one of the largest motherboard component makers in the world, certainly not a mickey mouse company. I'd bet you have already bought several items since with parts made by Foxconn.

wikipedia:
Foxconn produces the Mac mini and the iPod for Apple Computer; Intel-branded motherboards for Intel Corp.; various orders for American computer retailers Dell, Inc. and Hewlett Packard; the Xbox 360 for Microsoft; the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 for Sony; the Wii for Nintendo, and cell phones for Motorola.[1] It is Taiwan's largest private company, with a revenue of NT$ 413.35 billion (c. US$13 billion) in 2004.[2]

Following on from my last post. One of the hard drives has just turned up in a small box, inside a box about half the size of wembly stadium and nothing to secure the little box inside the big box. I'll be amazed if it works, esp.with city link. It must have been crashing and banging around all the way here.
