Having recently passed my driving test and being halfway to sorting out a car I wanted to look at Sat Navs and hoped people here could help!

Im mainly looking at two models:

Navigo GPS Sat Nav £59.99 eBuyer Linked Here
I understand this can be 'unlocked' and other software put on as required. How easy is this to do? Would I need to buy anything additonal? Is it a good SatNav in terms of use etc....

TomTom One XL £159 Littlewoods Linked Here
Seems to be the market leader, also have a load of 'goods back' with littlewoods so would cost me around £115. No need for any messing around but will be locked to TomTom etc...

I'd suggest buying a brand new BMW, the sat nav is completely free, however the car may cost quite a lot of china !!

I have the tomtom One, which is the same as the XL except for the larger screen. I got for £99.99 on Amazon around 6 months ago.

I have no complaints what so ever. It is brilliant! It has not let me down at all yet. My dad also has a Tomtom and only has good things to say.

Personally I wouldn't be tempted to try anything else, even if it was half the cost

Even with a brand new BMW unless you get a high spec then you have to pay for the roof for any extras :x

Yeah TomTom seems to be the best software but I think it can be installed on the Navigo and more software.

Would also be interested in buying one if anyone is selling...

With such a big price difference, I would suggest you go with the cheaper one. Unlocking would all depend on your research. You'll need to read people's guides and try to find one that is the most easy to understand and accurate to use. And you'll need to know where to find the new software you wish to use after that. Just all depends on how techy you are.

Im computer literate and pretty good with Google so think I'll be alright trying to sort it out myself.
Have just ordered the Navigo for £60 (used £8.50 PayPal) just ordering a 4GB SD HC Card for £8 to go with it.R

Rep for those that have given advice
