oh, my local hospital has something called 'job bank' where you get trained and then they'll find a position about if they need supply staff...

also, would this be a full time permanent job you're after or.... temporary... part time....?

if temp and part or full time ..... depending where you live.... do something like... ice cream stool... :)

what u need to do is put ur cv in an envelope saying to the manager and have written private and confidential somewhere like in the top corner. this means staff wont read it or chuck it away and the manager will personally get it and open it, also many jobs u have to apply for online and cant give your cv out, i suggest you apply online and look for jobs there to

hi, just a quick note,
if your looking for part time or full time pizza express is a good company to work for as long as you get into waitering/waitressing. You only get paid minimum wage but you have your own section of tables and keep your own tips, sure your credit card tips get taxed 8% but i've paid my way through uni from it and there are so many branches across the uk that you can move around depending on where you live. Ask for an application form and keep pestering as they're always in need of staff. Good money for little work, need confidence but comes with practice. PM me if you need any help.
Company has had bad press but to be honest on a casual basis it is a god company to work for, take yesterday for example i worked 7hours so got 5.50ish x 7 = £38.50 then made £30 quid in cash straight in my pocket and then £20 on credit cards which will be put in your pay check at the end of the period. I wprk part time and earn about £12k a year, good for a student to be honest. Try the industry as a whole but be careful when it comes to tips as a lot of places use them to make up minimum wages so just be on your guard.

The most obvious advice is to persist - it's hard not to be put off when you're getting no response or a very basic reply, you just need to keep applying. When I was first applying for summer jobs I applied everywhere that was advertising for positions however out of all of them I received virtually nothing back.

Agencies are not a bad idea as they're actively seeking out work for you which is in their best interest and you don't have to go with what they find for you.

Just thought of something else! How about contacting local hotels? They'll probably need extra staff during the peak period. :)

Supermarket Night Crew. Most of the big ones usually have a vacancy or 2. Fairly good money.
Don't tell them it's only a temp position though, use some good old fashioned B/S.

I was going to suggest this , i was in Sainsburys in Hereford yesterday and they have notices up looking for night staff to restock shelves.

hi sorry for the delay in replying, when i'm at uni i work about 20hours a week and then during holidays i put in extra shifts, it suits be for the moment as it fits around uni. I have some friends who work and it is their full time job, easy to get sucked in and not move jobs as the money is good, especially around christmas.

Any news on the job hunt?
