WTF, Thames Water taking the Mickey?

Me and the OH have been living together for 3 years in the same property, we have been paying £11 per month by direct debit and all of a sudden, whoooosh, a revised bill arrives asking for £25 per month.
I rang the man in Asia to query the bill and he asked me if we were low, medium or high usage.
I remarked that its up to THEM to tell me what usage we were and asked him to look at the meter readings, he explained that they have NEVER taken a meter reading at my property.
I asked him how they can charge me almost 150% extra without even knowing how much we have used.
Is this normal? I find it very strange.

Makes my blood boil, inept muppets

I take it all your meter readings were estimates then skusey?
Be thankful they are not asking for it all in one lump sum if you are in arrears.

take a reading and compare to the last estimate also give them the reading then they can adjust your payment

omg, thats awful. Take a reading right now and note it down and another in 3 months.

Having said that my water ( essex and suffolk) works out to about 33 a month. High usage I guess!

BJ1??

I just think it's really weird how some couples don't ever take meter readings and then are shocked to get a massive bill. I didn't have to be told to read my gas and electric meters when I first started renting with my mates when I was 21! Just thought at 42 you would kind of know.

Share your bath water. This will halve your bill down to £12.50 per month!:giggle: Use the dirty water to flush the pan. Also use the loo at work more often.
