Get a PS3 you wont need to buy a wireless adapter then.
There's also cheaper alternatives, the wireless adapter will cost I think £35 something like that? Not sure of the cheapest though.

HTH Good luck.

Its to replace the need for a cbale going from your router to the xbox, if you can get a cable between the 2 it is better, but may need to drill a hole

lol nobody claimed they were cheap, as some one said above you can get a cable for loose change and connect it from modem to xbox, but it would require some tidying up if your fussy, or just connect it when you need it. hope it helps

She'll need rechargeable batteries pack which'll cost about £10 :) And about £25 a year for xbox live
That's why you should get a PS3 :)

Thats cool then, just work out how much lenght you need between the 360 and the router and then buy a network cable of that lenght, you can pick up 10 meters for less then a fiver on here

well I guess if you don't mind the extra..the wireless is less hassle to initially set up..in theory. My wireless connection is hit and miss, my computer is enabled but can never find any connection so always plugged in via wire..so for me, the cheaper cost of the wire was just a bonus (as I always have a connection now)

Overall I think it is just what you are happy with, I don't think it makes much difference.

The best is cable and it is cheaper the downside is the effort to make it not seen I.E. Drilling a hole to put the cable thou and then taking it to the wall.

Like mentioned just teach her the correct ways of life and buy a ps3 wireless, bluray and no RROD what more can you ask for

oh and also not being charged to play online

BluRay Nice, PS3 wireless not as good as 360 wired as mentioned already, and you could ask for the yellow light of death and then pay £100 to get it fixed or be happy you have the 3 years warrenty on the RROD ;)

Yeah 360 to a modem.
I have been on the phone to virgin but they said no, I was gonna try again soon, just need to get round to it.
Had it well over a year.

Cool 360 to a modem will be fine.
If its over a year, and you dont mind threatening them with leaving to go to Sky (as sky offer a free router) they will put you thou to the retentions department who will bend over backwards to keep you espec if you have an expensive package, they might even offer you better stuff or cheaper virgin

In fact my other son is getting a PS3 so no point in buying the cable, I will just give virgin a call and try and get a free router out of them.
I did the threaten to cancel thing about 6 months ago and got a cheaper deal so I don't want to push my luck in case they tell me to do one. :?

Nice one just phoned up and they agreed to give me a free wireless router.

If you want the best Wireless adaptor for your 360 and not bothered about price then Shopto do the new Twin Ariel Wireless N version for £52.99,

This adapter is far faster than anything built into any make of console and that is why you pay a premium for it, they all use the old 802.11g .
I.E -

"The 802.11n wi-fi standard that is able to receive data at 300Mbps. compare to the theoretical 54Mpbs upper-limit of the 802.11g . "

That is true, however not that many people have the kind of connection that would benefit from it, either a wired connection or the standard wireless adaptor would be fine.

For future proofing and a better signal buy the new Xbox 360 wireless N adapter above, the old now dated 802 .11g wireless adapter is almost the same price anyway. (The new N model from the Sendit link above is actually cheaper than some are charging here for the older one i.e Dabs) -
