You can download arcade games onto the HDD from Xbox live. You can also save the games directly to the HDD now so the disc drive doesn't spin. Although you need the disc in the drive.

cheers guys, im off to find one now online! lol

just to add if you want the best value for money go for the pro 60gb version. In my opinion the elite is overpriced as really there's very little difference only double the hard drive size. You sound like you won't need the elite's massive hard drive anyway. Also there's a serious lack of good bundles for the elite!

Theres only a handful of original xbox games available to download. No full 360 games yet.
The only thing the big hdd is good for atm is copying games from disc to hdd to stop them from spinning and increasing the load times.

You will really notice the difference if you own a TV capable of Hi-Def.

You could buy an Xbox 360 Arcade (Base Model) with an extra wireless controller, lego indiana jones, kung fu panda, sega superstars tennis and project gotham 4 for £137 delivered at argos using codes XMASDISCOUNT & EFD10.

Then you could get a 20GB HDD with 3 months xbox live from microsoft for £19.99 I think here.

There may be other games that you want though.

Shopto have had it in and out of stock quite often at £137.

£144 for a premium is pretty good.

You could probably do with getting him a game and if you have a wireless router (internet) maybe either a 360 wifi adaptor or a long enough Ethernet cable so he can play online.
