OK so we were one of the lucky ones, all set-up / uploads and updates done a few days before Christmas so we weren't affected by the hacking fiasco.

However Y/day it developed some issues. There were 4 games it wouldn't load and only one blue ray would load. After a lot of searching we had to do the master reset which obviously wiped everything ( profiles , games, updates etc)

Starting to add them all again but is going to be quite a task.

May be handy for anyone else having problems.

Has this happened to anyone else.

Best thing to do is a hard reset.
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds, and should boot up again with the green xbox screen, but doesn't delete all the games/saves etc.

If I were you I would have not risked it and got it replaced all together, you never know if the problem will come back, better safe than sorry but glad you've got it working again. :)

Well done.

As looneychoonz74 says, a hard reset seems to sort most problems. I've had to do it about once every 2 or 3 months and it's pretty much always sorted my problems out.
Have never had to do a factory reset in the 14ish months I've had mine.

(It didn't solve one problem, where the bd drive just packed in, mind. MS were pretty quick to send me a replacement console, though, and I then had a week to return to them the faulty one.)

You should only ever use Restore factory defaults as a last resort and not to fix simple issues.

I can say that in the past 15 months, I've never had a single issue with the Xbox, even whilst in the beta program.

Take it back to the shop & swap it for a new one.
