Might be getting a 360 of a mate and was wondering how much is it roughly worth?

Its got a wireless pad and all the leads but has no HD and how can I tell if its got HDMI, its a older version so guessing it wont? It has not been online so cant be banned and think warranty is still intact!!

How much do they go for these days? Will put more info on, when I talk to him!!

After what just happened to me (RROD), I am thinking it is just not worth getting a modded 360. After all, my seller claims to have made all the modifications necessary to prevent this happening. He said this:

I should add, though, that I can actually repair the 3 red lights myself, and have done so to over 200 consoles. I've also written a PDF guide on the method I use to repair it (X-Clamp replacement). People also send their consoles to me to have this work done even if their consoles don't have 3 red lights, because it is also a preventative measure. What it comes down to is the 'X-Clamps' that hold the heatsinks onto the motherboard aren't strong enough, so the heatsink make bad contact, can't conduct heat away from the processors fast enough, and the console suffers from overheating. Replacing the X-Clamps fixes this, but it's better to do it before getting 3 red lights, because once you've got 3 red lights there's no telling what damage the overheating could have caused (fried chips, warped motherboard, etc.).

Anyway, I replaced the X-Clamps on my console last September as a preventative measure and it's never had 3 red lights. None of the consoles I've repaired have ever broken down again (I give warranties on my repairs and I haven't heard back from anyone). So personally, I think it would be safe to say this one isn't going to get 3 red lights.

Make your own mind up if it is worth it...

So its all about over heating? Thanks for the info liddle and you said you played a bit and it did that which is not very good? If I get it a good price might consider it, as either keep it or sell it on? Its not flashed so does that make it less harmful?

Flashed or not flashed...Doesn´t make a difference when it comes to RRODíng.
I personally would stay away from all old consoles without the falcon.
Falcon consoles run a lot cooler and are less likely to get the RROD.
So, sell it on and get yourself a console with the falcon if you really want a 360 :)

Check on the box, should say 175W instead of 203W (that´s what it says on the powerbrick too)
:)
I say get both, we have a 360 and a PS3 and it´s a nice combination ;)

The Falcon is the chipset on the lates consoles. My Elite has the Falcon chipset but there are now a lot of reports of them failing as well. I'd give up on it but i only have about 2 games i like on my PS3 and loads on the 360.

Although i'm looking forward to Little Big Planet or whatever it's called and i think it will pick up a lot on the PS3 towards the end of the year. :)

Yes some falcons RROD too BUT they are a lot less likely to.
Our old non falcon console was hotter after 20 minutes than our falcon console
after 8 hours....Tells it all

Yep, mine defintely takes longer to get warm.......it's just the waiting for the inevitable eventually. lol

Although saying that, i'm on my 3rd PS3.....1st one had drive failure after 48 hours and the 2nd one bricked after a FW update. lol

WOW thats bad LOL

Funny thing about mine is I never even gave it time to heat up. Since getting it, the longest single perio of time I was on it was about 20 minutes! Have just tried several games openings without saves just to get a feel for them, in preparation for what I thought would be some good gaming time after the summer!

Well then your case is pretty obvious IMO....

I have 2 . a banned modded one too take away and watch films , play backups etc and an elite which i use to play games online ..

the modded one is the 2nd one ive had . The first ttime it got RROD within 12 months of being bought , took back to asda and they replaced ...the replaced one was modded and got caught online ...it got banned but was fine until 2 weeks ago , went to take on pontins free holiday (from hduk ta) it got the bloody RROD on the first day .asda wouldnt take this one back because it was 15months on the receipt. phoned helpline but when i gave them the serial number they said as it had a certain code it was modified so they wouldnt fix it.. got me mate to fix it in work , came back the next day , works fine , cost me £30 but i woudnt have had the patience yo do it myself , beleive it can take up to 4hrs to do it properly and he said it was the solder connections overheating making bad connections and the motherboard dropping as described here . he s done a few of them now like ...
