Bit confused here

You're trying to replace the 60gb drive with a 200gb one?

How have you connected the 60gb to the pc?

The highest capacity 2.5 sata drive at the minute you can use in an xbox 360 is a 120gb as the SS from 120gb needs to be used and saying as there is no 200 360 hd yet ther is no SS . You can only get a WD 2.5 120gb hard drive to behave like any hd already released for the xbox 360 eg a 120gb a 60gb a 20gb.

put the 60 back with 360 and hope you ain't broke it

I've connected the 60gb to the computer via the standard sata connector

I've opened the hard drive case and removed the Hard Drive so i basically

Im holding the hard drive whcih is same as some laptop hard drives so I assume a large one e,g 200 + would fit and work

Maybe i need some software or configuration

Just 2 clearify

"I can use a 120gb western digital hard drive and would not need 2 do anything and should work first time"

Iz dat right ? also how would i copy the info from the 60gb to the new hard drive

Yup, he is correct. only a WD Bevs SATA 2.5" 120GB will work

To read a 360 HDD on a PC you need to install 360Xplorer, but it is all nonsense, so you won't know what is what!

If you want to swap the 60Gb for the 120GB Bevs you need to dump partition 1 & 3 on your PC, select File>Image Partition 2 (only in 360xplorer Beta 6 (hacked version) then stick the 120Gb Bevs in the xbox, format it, attach it to your PC, dump parts 1 & 2 back into the relevant partitions, then select File>restore part 2, put back in 360 and bingo.

There is no alternative unless you buy a connectivity kit or a backup cable that comes with the legit 120GB files.

before you can do anything with the Bevs drive you need to replace the SS file (available online) and run HDDHackr from DOS.

loads of guides online

You simply can't just replace your 60GB HDD with any old drive
