I want to buy the console for my new fella for crimbo,,,but I have no clue what's about / what he needs / wants.

I am a gadget girl so once I'm told I'm into it but not being a gamer have no clue at the mo.

When you just buy the 'console' at about £200 whats the dif between this and the 'premium' at about £270

He doesn't have access to the internet (although I do) so he won't be able to do the 'Live' thing unless he brings it round mine.

He's not very technically minded but he really wants this....due to the price tag I would like to just buy him the 'console' but then will he be restricted on what he can do?

Sorry I didnt know where to ask but thought one of you kind ladies/gents could explain/pm or point me in the direction for some info.

Thanx so much, mucho appreciated xxxxxxxxxxxx

The main difference is the that with the premium there is a 20gig Hard drive included, now this is needed to play original xbox games and of course is a storage device for game saves as well as music or videos which you can transfer over.

You can purchase these seperatly for about 70 quid should he want more memory in the future (which he probably will) you can get memory card but this is not really big enough for some of the game saves of the bigger games.

Other differences include the premium having a chrome finished disc tray, wireless controller and standard cable.

I'd say go for the premium if you can afford it, especially with some of the bundles out there, becuase his circumstances may chance with regards to him wanting to play online.

With all the aditional stuff you get with the premium you save about £70 than if you got the core package and bought everything else seperatly.

I believe gamestation are doing the best deals at the moment, bet thats dependant on what games he plays.

And for the record - the test of you being a good girlfriend will come when he stand's you up becuase he's so involved with his campaign on Call of Duty 3 lol

I got the 10% deal with PGR3 extra controller and table tennis
But all they sent was the console as pgr and the controller has been deleted, and they hadnt the decency to tell me!!
Cost me £14 to send back, chances are i wont see that again!
Plus may have to wait 14 days for refund, crooks!!

Hmmm actually this will probably be true or more like when we get in from a night out it will be switched straight on and battle will commence do doubt for 'favours'.... although it's air hockey when he stays at mine.lol

I have some HMV vouchers to put towards it that's why I'll be going there...o I hope I get it in time if I order it next week.

Does anyone know if you can use online discount voucher codes along side e-vouchers, should be able to as they are full value....ooo here's hoping
