xbox 360 connection help required! Please!

Hi all, I'm wondering if someone can help me out here...
Ive recently bought a cooler king for my 360, and also have a new CIbox 19" widescreen monitor from ebuyer. I want to connect my 360 to this, I have, via the vga. The picture is fantastic, looks really great but I have no sound. My monitor has speakers and also a 'green' connection (like the one for sound on a pc)...

Does sound not come thru vga connection?

Can someone offer some advice or suggestions?

Please! Thanks!

Cooler king as in 3rd party fan? Be careful as this voids the warranty according to Microsoft...

VGA is a video signal only, you will need to get an adapter which has two phono inputs and one 3.5mm jack to pipe the sound from your VGA cable into your monitor:

I'm assuming the connector on your monitor is a single 3.5mm jack which looks the same as a headphone socket?

thanks guys - john - yes its the same as a headphone socket but I'm not sure where the audio output on the cooler king for use with the twin phono would be...

next to the vga there is an 'optical' which is a stange little black thing that I've not seen too often

Ok, I've had a look at the cooler king - as far as I can see you have six phono connections - composite (yellow), audio left and right (white and red) and component (another red, green and blue). I think a simple cable like this would do:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=31700&doy=30m5

The phono end would go in the white and red phono plugs on your cooler king and the 3.5mm end into the monitor sound input.

The optical connector is for digital 5.1 surround sound - you'd plug the other end into your surround sound receiver which is obviously not suitable in this case.

Just get one of these and plug the 2 phono connections left on the vga lead into the phono sockets on the wire and the 3.5mm jack end into the monitor sound input.

That was my initial recommendation but the cooler king accessory gives you a vga port which means you can use a simple vga to vga rather than the Xbox 360 vga cable. If you have a look at the cooler king you'll see he'll need a cable to connect to the phono ports on the back then to the 3.55m plug.

Great John, thanks very much, I will give it a go. The cooler king seems odd in that there are 2 switches on the back where you set the output that you will be using... currently it is set to vga, which is clearly what I need. I just hope that this doesnt completely disable the audio outputs on the other settings (red and white phono plugs) otherwise it wont work
