Just heard it on the news, could be bad. They said the elite was thought to be immune to this failure which affects the earlier models

nah the elite isnt immune to it

* Early Elite models shipped using the Zephyr motherboard, though newer models now use the Falcon 65nm chipset instead. These Elites (and other Xbox 360 models using the Falcon) can be identified from earlier versions by a re-designed power connector and a power supply that runs at 175w. The motherboard layout is also different.

So its the ones with he falcon chips that should last longer but still can have probs

spot on, like the other consoles they changed to the falcon, so its not suprising that older elites are now failing

This is old news the "DAILY MIRROR" is rekindling it and wrongly at that

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/2008/07/07/500m-bill-for-xbox-red-ring-of-death-89520-20634547/

Remember this is the ELITE they are supposed to be talking about -
And it spent £500million recalling power cords supplied with units made before 2003 after 300 caught fire and burnt seven gamers. ER WHAT !

Since when did 300 catch fire and since when was the xbox 1!!! an Elite and subject to the RROD?, power cords happened to be replaced not recalled ..

12m Xboxes have been sold since 2005
Last time I checked they have sold 19.54M Xbox 360s , again mixing up with xbox 1

33% Xboxes will overheat say experts
Experts what experts ?, ONE THIRD PARTY REPAIR CENTRE, Gamestop return rate at the time being the first 360 boards..
